I almost converted that to a storage on my 228 but at the end decided to keep the fresh water because I do use it when fishing. I was going to convert it into to 2 tackle tray holders. I ended up doing this for storage. I have had it for few months now and I’m so glad I did it.
My aux tank was replaced by the previous owner. When I purchased the boat in 2020 I pulled the main hatch out and inspected the original main tank at the time the tank looked pretty good. This winter I’m pulling the main tank out for inspection and to re-epoxy, I will be also replacing gas fill...
I like 2 units as stated above one as a chart plotter and the other one as a sounder. It’s also nice to have everthing in one area it just simplifies things.
This winter I’m thinking of inspecting my fuel tanks. The auxiliary tank is 5 years old replaced by the previous owner( fill hose is original). The main tank is original so I want to take it out and inspect it. I also want to change the fill hoses and fuel lines to the engine. I think I have to...
That’s great feel free to send me a Pm we can talk on how to fish for them. It’s always good to build a network when the fish are up here you can jump on my boat and we can go out. By the way yes my bracket is higher I think like 9 or 10 inches.
DSS welding in Canada. I sent him pictures/measurements of what I wanted and he custom made it. I troll for Salmon and Bluefin( when’s they are here) in the SF Bay area and it’s perfect.
Great install I did a similar one 2 years ago and I’m super happy with it. Your steering and throttle are an upgrade from what I did you are going to be happy with it good choice.
I decided to build a tackle station on my 228. I purchased a sheet(4x8) expanded pvc and went to work. I wanted to keep my cost and weight down. The last trays on the floor are removable so you can still access the inspection hatch. The tackle stations are held in place by Velcro attach to the...
That looks amazing great job. Have you put the boat in the water and retrieved it back on the trailer? The anchor roller coming down from the pulpit might interfere with the trailer roller near the winch.
Congrats the boat looks amazing you are all setup. I have a 228 and live in the South Bay let me know if you come my way ( Moss Landing to Halfmoon Bay) I’ll be happy to buddy boat with you.
