    I’ll look into it. Thanks.

    Adding new cleats

The “crew“ is easily distracted by a crab on a piling, that kinda thing. Can’t lose your mind when something happens either you just do your best to prevent it. I Laid down blue tape, strung a line between the railing posts and marked center. Then positioned the cleats off center to the sides...

    Adding new cleats

I get what your saying about protecting the core. When I recored the hatch above the tank I made a 1” gap filled with epoxy between the new core and the edge so the screw holes can’t transfer moisture to the core. Don’t know if I’m that motivated on this one though. 99% Of water intrusion thru...

    Adding new cleats

I'd touched base on this earlier and have decided to follow thru. When tied up at the ramp waiting for me to park my truck or dunk the trailer after a day on the water the boat has a way of pivoting in with the bow rubbing on the dock marring the gelcoat. This happens even If I ask someone to...

    Horn replacement location

I’ve got the boat stored in a carport that was built for what it is now without the hardtop. I do wish it did have one though. All the antennas, would go up top as would the electronics into the hardtops box. Walking up front would be so much easier with it to hold onto as well. Finding a...

Vinyl with spots on helm arms

Agree with Dennis and that will get it clean but there’s a chance it’ll come back. If you add powdered borax in the mixture when dry the borax that got in deep remains and prevents mold from growing again.

    Horn replacement location

I’ll bet the trumpet horn is pretty loud. I had bought the replacement horn back before I retired but had no time to install it. Since I retired I’ve been working my way down a looong to-do list. ;) Finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel. From your pic I’m also guessing you’ve pretty much...

    Horn replacement location

I did get it done on the day I posted it and ended up mounting it in the same location. I installed a perko single horn which was the exact model it replaced. The original horn(s) there were two, their wires were toast and unusable. I summoned some nerve and peeled back the cabin carpet to find...

    Cuddy Carpet

My Overnighter was pretty bad inside too with a lot of black mildew into the carpet. I cleaned it with the upholstery wand on our Bissell carpet cleaner. Used a mix of hot water, carpet shampoo and oxyclean. It came up like new and has stayed that way. You can do the same thing with the mix in...

Rinsing Salt Water Out on land -

Sounds like a lot of MacGuyver-ing in the middle of an emergency chaos situation. If your gut says you might need a backup to your bilge pump one day then listen to your gut and install a big 2000gph auxiliary pump but digging around in the bilge rigging something ... well that ain’t the time...

GPS / Fishfinder for Adventure 208

Sounds like you want a forward scan transducer or at least good charts. I just this week finally made time to remove my ancient Faruno sonar/gps to replace it with a Simrad Go9. I bought mine with all available charts for the east coast and inland waters. Needless to say they are very well...

    Horn replacement location

Since I’ve owned my boat, 7 years the horn has never worked. I bought a replacement but have been dodging that task because the wires that feed it are toast with zero conductivity and are fed under the cabin carpeting. here is where it is mounted and it’s opposite side inside the cabin... The...

    Bow access ladder from trailer?

I’d like to see what you were using with your Adventure 20. I’ve got an Overnighter 20 and I’m not comfortable climbing over the bow onto the bow support post.

    Antenna wire

I pinched it back and installed the solderless connector. Appears to be working well. Actually seems to be better than it was. I also installed a Standard amplified external speaker for it. can hear it nice and clear now. Moving on I removed the old Faruno gps/sonar unit, It’s gps antenna and...

    Antenna wire

Did all that but no response. Yes it picked up other boats but no one answered back for Radio check request. Then broke out the hand held and it went over clearly. I stick to this...

    Antenna wire

Thank you. I’m going to get that done today. Glad I have a handheld radio to do a radio check verifying the antenna is receiving and sending. I tried getting a response from a radio check response on all appropriate channels and all I got were crickets. from my spot on the Manasquan river...

    Launching with wet tires

Not really wanting the boat to slide that much on the bunks. When I’m by myself that was a pain with the roller trailer. I’d load it and have to tie it off While the engine running to keep it from rolling back. The ramps here have nothing between the floating dock and the ramp to step off...
