    Sailfish 282 Companion Seat

I looked to do the same, my wife really wanted to make that change, couldn't find one, and original they are quite expensive. It's less secure in rough seas and really doesn't give you more seating capacity, though imagine it might make the helm a little more walkable. As it is these things...

    Cushions for 282 Sailfish

I have the exact boat, and original grady cushions. Do you want to see if your shop would do it off of photos? We could take pics top and bottom with a ruler and measure anything they'd want measured. Thickness, snap location, etc... The port and stbd cusions are very similar aside from this...

    Is this to low ?

FWIW. My neighbor has the ping pong ball scuppers and hates them with a passion. They get fouled constantly and leave him with inches of water in the cockpit when they stick. His boat is wet slipped, 21 Mako.

Update: Leak in Head Discharge Line. West Marine Recommends Replacement with More Flexible Line

The vented loop should be immediately to your left, essentially the back wall of the head, when you open up that panel. Some of my radar equipment and my Autopilot pump are in that spot as well. My wife would be highly displeased with a porta pot, as would my daughter, and to your point it...

Update: Leak in Head Discharge Line. West Marine Recommends Replacement with More Flexible Line

It's prob the same as my 2002 282. I replaced the line from the toilet to the 1.5" loop this offseason. The access is via a removable panel on the stbd side of the mid-berth. Piece of cake to get to, the hose requires a little wrestling and a heat gun helped me gain a little extra pliability...

    Favorite Trailering Destination:

I'm on the Chesapeake, which I really do like for many reasons. So many places to visit, lot's of spots to hide in foul weather, for the most part forgiving if you ground, for the most part... Annapolis, St. Michaels, Tilghman, Deale, Solomons, N. Neck of Virginia. Stripers, Reds, Cobia...

    Canvas enclosure

Including shipping to MD and everything, it was right around 3100. Strataglass and the Ivory Stamoid. I think they are more than fair for the quality of the final product. What i have now is nicer than what i had before, not just in the materials but in the workmanship.

    Marlin head vent filter

On my 2002 Sailfish it is behind the panel at the back of the mid-berth. My vent line was clogged in a couple of places, at the end from wasps and at the tank from 'product' sloshing up into that elbow. I picked a chilly day to do this work for obvious reasons.

    SeaDek

I did everything except for the raised area around the front hatch and the enclosed head, even the swim platform at the transom. 3300 out the door.

    Sailfish 282 Repower to Single?

Twins all the way, i have f225's. They are close but after a lot of practice I can spin her on a dime if it's not a heavy wind. IMO she's easier to dock and handle than my old 228 was with the single. I think you'd miss having 2 the first time you took her out and tried to bring it back.

New owner in the Chesapeake Bay Area with trailer question.

My .02. I have a much larger Grady, 282, same area though as you. I don't trailer it, the last guy did extensively, venture trailer with bunks. He had it down around Solomon's, I'm near Annapolis. I also now own a Scout 251XS, that came with bunks and I managed to float it in practically...

2006 282 Sailfish Fresh Water Fill

Mine takes FOR-EV-ER to fill up, lot of water. I don't how the access to the tank and run to the pump is on your era but getting to the lines on my 2002 is a real beast.

    Water pump leak

I believe my water pump housing is leaking, yes I've seated the gaskets right, and used a gasket sealing grease. The motor will throw the overheat alarm if at trolling speeds for too long. There is some water in there when I drop the lower. This is a new lower unit, my only thought as of now is...

Hauling boat on trailer from Fl to Md

It's a Scout 251XS, a bay boat, they weigh next to nothing, single F300 XCA and nothing on the boat but a little fuel. I'm looking to hire this out, I don't have the time to get to Florida to pick it up. The broker, frustratingly so, knows very little about the trailer. My existing boat is a...

Hauling boat on trailer from Fl to Md

I’m adding a boat to my fleet, it is 25ft, 8’6”, beam and on a trailer. Weight including trailer is right around 4,000lbs. I need it pulled from Vero Beach, Fl to Annapolis. Tow and go as they say, no ramp stuff, parking lot to parking lot. Anyone have any tips/leads in this department?

    New to me 282 sailfish

Are you hauling or did you find someone? Curious as I’m buying a boat in Florida right now and need it shipped to Maryland. If u did hire and found it a positive experience I’d appreciate the lead.

    Grady 27/28 sailfish owners...

As the signature indicates I have a 282 Sailfish, it'll eat a head sea no problem, fuel burn is a little painful... The only time I would say that it get's a little squirrely is in a big quartering sea. It will tend to bow steer heading downwind unless I really trim up, which in a heavy sea...

Just had a nice little 560 mile journey, Sailfish 282

On the fuel burn i have 15.25 X 19p 3 blade stainless props on my 225's and that's about what I see in terms of fuel burn. Best cruise for me is 14.8 GPH at 3700 RPM, get's me 29 MPH. WOT, for as often as that's used, is 45 MPH, 56-700 RPM. Being heavy or light doesn't change it all that much...
