    Opinion on 2003 Johnson 150

I think I will make them an offer if the the compression is OK. The boat is dirty but it looks like it will clean up. Let's see if they are insulted with the offer.

    Opinion on 2003 Johnson 150

I am considering, thinking, pondering but sorta scared of a 1998 208 with a 2003 Johnson 150 2 stroke. Not a Ficht but a J150 something. I would appreciate any opinions on this engine. Is it enough engine for this boat? I repeat it is a carburetor 2 stroke. Fuel and oil consumption? I imagine a...

    Yamaha 200 I-4

The inline 200 seems a little small for a 228, I thought the F200 6 cylinder was small for a 208 I owned. I had a 228G with the F250 and it seemed the right size.

    Fish finder/navigation

I had a 2005 208 and this is the package that was in her when I got it: I replaced it with a Garmin 540S with an internal antenna and it worked great, I sold this one and later I got another with a hardtop and installed a 541S with internal antenna and it also worked great in the box. If you...

First day on the water w 208, cruise speed off ?

Seems to be still off. I had a 2003 208, hardtop, with a 2003 200 Yamaha hpdi. Cruise 3900 rpm 29-30 mph, WOT 5800 50 mph. That is trimmed up nicely, 2 people, 1/2 tank gas loaded for day trip, cooler. etc. Maybe my hpdi ran a little stronger?

    228G Performance Info

I was on a lake, no current, wind negligible, pretty calm, 3 blade prop. With the hardtop and radar dome I had to be real careful going under one of the bridges on Lake Greenwood. I had about 8" clearance and another I could no get under. Sure do get a lot of looks on this smaller lake in the...

    Grease Trailer Ball?

Well maybe I will start. It seems to be the thing to do but I have never greased one.

    Grease Trailer Ball?

In normal day to day towing, grease? When I bought my last 208, it's in AU now, the owner lubed the ball before I hooked up. This is the only time I have greased it.

How many people lube/grease their trailer ball before hitching up and towing? I can say I never do. How about you?
