No, I can't see me renting my boat out. I can only imagine the way it would be driven, docked and taken care of. Scares me to think about it.
 
Not a snowballs chance in hell. I am a freak on how it's run and how it's taken care of. Think about the mentality of people driving rental cars, to the carpet the whole time. In-laws go for rides, I'm the captain, the wife never has asked to drive/dock and that's okay with me.

On another note, this may come in handy if I ever take a vac and need to get on the water.
 
Shoot, I don't even let family borrow my boat. No way. Wouldn't lend it to my in-laws. Just too many things can go wrong. Running aground, docking, etc. The thought of renting also scares me. And also consider the liability. Nope. Not for me. :shock:
 
It depends to who and for what price?

I read some posts here and there is a margin of safety you build in teaching a regular crew to captain your boat from your best fishing buddies to your wife. If something happens to the captain and nobody on board knows how to operate your boat, you are up the proverbial creek without a paddle. My wife can back the trailer down, she knows how to use the plotter, understands basic navigation and seamanship, she knows how to troll a weedline and more. Most importantly she can safely get back to the dock if something happens to me.
 
I'm surprised there is a market for this. For $650 you get an empty boat and will likely have to pay for fuel as well. If I was on vacation somewhere, I would rather pay a bit more and get a captain with his local knowledge and his fishing gear.
