    330 Express cockpit deck drains

My best guess would be to go with option two as Fish stated... The Scientists at Grady weren't forward thinking enough.

    Fresh Water Flush

My humble procedure: I have a pair of 250's. At days end back into slip, tie up and shut down. Hook up both motors to a Y valve splitter we made up. Turn on water and simultaneously begin flushing in down position. Open beer. Start drinking beer while filling wash bucket with another hose...

Marina’s being absorbed Big Business ?

My fear is some day the blue collar guys/gals will be pushed out to trailer trashin’ it mostly. Not that there’s anything wrong with being mobile. Some folks just like having the convenience of a slip. But at what cost are we able to tolerate

Marina’s being absorbed Big Business ?

.... Although I like our Marina (alot) in OC it is privately owned, maybe on the higher end of the slip fee scale it is a great place and the folks are real personable. Hope it stays that way. I like the old mom and pop marinas over in the Bay and would hate to see them fall victim to the lure...

FWIW … I have owned five 3.3L Yamaha F250 outboards. One is stamped manufactured year 10/2006 it is on a 2008 Jones Bros I bought new and still own. Two more were on a pilothouse boat I purchased new (2007)and logged over 2200 hours on and sold to a guy who now has the meter approaching 3k...

    DIY 282 Sailfish Transom Repair

Nice glass work repair on the transom. Too bad the Scientists at GW didn’t do that in the first place. What material did you use for that bang plate ?

    Upholstery Scientists

Going to check again next time I’m at the house Dan. Weather sucks again this weekend (gotta love middle earth here in the northeast) I had the same question myself. Those staples are all rusted away. The cushions etc look practically new. They were stored and rarely used. .

Hard Water Spots on side windows

Lot’s of snake oils out there for water spot removal. As mentioned it may be etched therefore could need to try mechanically (polishing) or hire a professional

    Upholstery Scientists

Just throwing a well deserved jab here … Have a beautiful set of factory cushions that snap on the exterior of the trunk cabin. They have been stored indoors at home or down below in the V berth so they look almost new. However upon further examination I noticed that the “Staple Scientist” had...

    FYI Ongaro Wipers

Fyi had purchased a pair of Ongaro wiper replacements last spring (black) coated. Sold as marine wipers. Doing some prep this spring and noticed they were rusted out. Why in the world would someone zinc coat a steel wiper and sell it for use on a marine application ?? Luckily The local dealer...

    ‘04 330 EXPRESS WRAP

The two tone look is nice if the boat is lift kept and no bottom paint is intended. I agree that it’s a little odd IMO when the bottom gets painted and you have a white gap (teeth) if you will. I like the color and would fill the gap then do a nice light boot stripe to make it really “Pop”

    Repowering 24' Offshore

Just for comparison sakes I have a 2008 23’ Jones Brothers Light Tackle edition that is certainly a lot lighter with less deadrise then the 24 offshore GW. The 24 Offshore is a lot more boat !! My Jones is powered with a Yamaha F250 four stroke and is the perfect power match set up, it’s no...

    New style cockpit drains

Epoxy type sealants on this job would only be necessary on the drain cut out itself, not the fittings. And what I mean by that is use it as a core filler after de-coring the cutout. I’m assuming that deck is balsa cored and if it wasn’t sealed properly it is subject to get wet if it hasn’t...
