    good automatic windlass removal

Had the same issue - the unit needs to come off to repair. Prior post hits it - you need long arms or a tiny person to get to the backside of the bolts. I took mine in to Florida Rigging & Hydraulics (local to me) and they went over the whole thing, lubed it up, tested it, etc. for $50. Call...

    Water line

Leave it sit in the water for a day (tanks full, normal load) to get a light scum line that you can trace +1 inch. Then clean & prep. Every boat sits a little bit differently.

    Grady without stripes and stripes

Getting ready to do mine but looking for a backing that has all three pinstripes on it. So far, all I can find are the individual pinstripes. How did you do yours? Did you do wet transfer or are they regular stickers?

Poppet valve on Yami 2 stroke 250

Its actually called a pressure control valve (#19 on mine). I had similar temp alarm issues and posted up my probably way-overkill solution here. http://www.thehulltruth.com/boating-for ... heads.html

Poppet valve on Yami 2 stroke 250

Go to boats.net and look up prices under CYLINDER CRANKCASE 2 Diagram for your year motor. Pretty cheap and easy job to complete. When I did mine, I replaced the spring, valve, rubber grommet and gasket (parts 19-22). About $12 in parts. I also did the hose (part 25) while I was at it for...

    Under Gunnel rodholder parts

Are you looking to replace your existing ones? Reason I am asking is I was looking to replace mine, moldy and nasty looking, but with a little bleach soak and some toothbrush action, they look like new again.

    Sloppy hydraulic steering

I've got a little skipping in mine and pulling it off this weekend. Sending it out to http://www.hydraulicmarinerepair.com/ and letting them go through it. Less than $100 to evaluate and clean and they will let you know if it can be repaired. They don't sell new, so my guess is that they have...

    Overheat Warning

I had the same issue and ended up taking off the heads to find lots of crud and growth in there, plus broken-off chunk of anode blocking the main water path. Changed poppets, springs and t-stats while I was at it. Big job but not difficult. Zero isses since then. I posted up the whole...

265 Express stbd side locker ram...

The lift used in the starboard storage area has a casing (not including ends) measuring 5 1/2 inches. Let me know if you need a photo. You can find them at West Marine, different brand than OEM, but they all seem to have the same ram ends and are of similar quality. The one spec you will need...

265 Express Owners: What was mounted here?

If it is on the port side, it might have been an accessory plug like this: http://www.bluemarlinchronicles.com/fem ... nector.htm On my 2001 265, the port side has the space inside for an extra battery, which I use to run my sword light. One of my future projects is to add this plug and then...

    Replacing head gaskets ?

Pretty big job just for preventative service - not difficult, but time consuming. Make sure to re-torque after a few hours of use. Here is step-by-step with pics. http://www.thehulltruth.com/boating-for ... heads.html

    Just Registered for Great Grady

Search the forum for Groco and you will find all of the sad macerator stories. I've done mine twice now with Groco just because I'm such a stickler for OEM. It stinks because I rarely use the thing but just like to have everything working on the boat.

Grady White @ FLL Boat Show

I went on all the boats, expo and in-water. Typical superior quality and nice setup. 27 Canyon was sharp. The only thing I cannot get over is the huge $$ to get in to a new boat. Makes me love my 265 Express even more.

    Hardtop Mounted Outriggers

I mounted mine directly in the hardtop with backing plate and as close to a pipe as I could. No flexing or cracking issues in 5 years. Probably the reason is that I do not run hard with the riggeres extended. When I re-set locations, I aim the poles straight back and keep the speed down...

    fuel cap "O" ring

Very important if you want to keep water out of your fuel. I would find a source for the correct Perko part. I have used "close matches" from the hardware store and have had premature cracking, poor fit, etc. Why screw around with with something potentially damaging (water in fuel) when you...
