265Express owners - prop tweaking for better MPG's

Whilst they are possibly not the most economical props. I run them one hole off the highest position and regularly at 3 -4 bars trim with no ventilation or cavitation. I would like to try some 17 Mirages but they are very expensive here......around $1500 each so will wait for some to come up...

    WTB Yamah Oil tank Brackets

New ones are expensive and they certainly don't last well.If you have an old one a machine shop can make them up in a less corosive metal for similar or cheaper price.

265Express owners - prop tweaking for better MPG's

I believe you will find lots on this if you do a search. 17" mirage merc props are highly regarded. As you say load and conditions make a big difference. I believe best reported economy is around 1.8 mpg and around 3,900 rpm. I rarely see those numbers unless I am very lightly loaded. I...

33 express 250's thread handling probs.

Whilst I don't have experience with your boat ; I wonder if the combination of extra weight forward or back combined with the short steep aft quartering seas could have lifted the stern and caused the prop slip. I guess most of us have experienced a certain extreme sea states where you would...

When is it normal to start pounding ?

I'm probably stating the obvious here........but bearing off the wind or sea will give you more space in between the chop and usually an easier condition to find some comfort. We run about 50 nm. out to our reefs and I adjust my bearing a little (if necessary) to abuse us and the boat less...

    Pop-Up Cleats...PIA

Maybe your dock lines are oversize? I don't have that problem, however when I first got mine the cleats hadn't been used in a long time and were very difficult to "pop" up. They aren't a problem any more. I love the look of them and for fishing at the stern the only thing better would be inboard.

265Express- Graphic Dimensions / Boat Name

17" long x 13" either side. Not a lot of space. I prefer the name on the transom but because of the lack of space we put ours here........and we chose Dark blue over Gold shadow same as Grady White and stripes; looks excellent. Tanami is aboriginal for "never dry"

Anchoring technique to prevent loosing an anchor

G'day....bombie is short for Bombora which is a reef oucrop separate from the main reef and usually the some of the best places to start fishing. They can be from several feet round to hundreds of feet in circumference and in depths from 10 feet to hundreds of feet.

Anchoring technique to prevent loosing an anchor

The bouy retreival system can work really well especially with lighter reef (picks) anchors. However as has already been stated no system is foolproof and some times it is not possible to retreive the anchor without diving gear or a mini sub. We have only lost one anchor like this and it was...

How much fuel should I be using?

G'day C hris, Having used the 200hpdi's (and they are usually very efficient) for 2 years I would suggest that 6-8 knots is going to be a really uneconomical speed to get around at and also there is a considerable difference in fuel efficiency between 4,000rpm and 4,400 . So all things...

    Wahoo inboard

Thanks for the reply. I was wondering what are the dimensions and weight of this hull and what are the performance numbers with the current power? Due to the fuel prices here we are seeing an increasing number of inboard diesels (usually with a leg) and although i have recently repowered with...
