    Marlin--> Recovering cockpit bolsters?

    I will be removing them soon.....might go fishing later next week first! Actually, we boat here year round in South Florida. But my boat also has a retractable aft Bimini that keeps the rear seat and transom door bolsters in the shade 90% of the time so they still look great! The side bolsters...

    Marlin--> Recovering cockpit bolsters?

    2001 Marlin and the side cockpit bolsters are in need of recovering. How do I get them off?????? I looked under the gunnels but didn't see anything. What's the secret? Also, the port one has the curved L-shape that also runs in front of the livewell. Any tricks for that one! Thanks in advance!

    just paid $6.79 for fuel

    I'm lucky in that I get gas delivered right to the house and it's usually about .40.70 a gallon cheaper than the fuel docks on the ICW down here in Lauderdale. I had 120 gallons delivered in early Dec for $3.05....... Higher no doubt today, but whatever the price, this will always be the...

    Dome or Open radar?

    My Marlin came with a 4KW Raymarine dome....... not good for birds. Upgraded to a Navnet with 6kw and 4-foot array antenna. We mounted it right in front of the "hump" on the hardtop and found that right there, the hardtop material was a bit over an inch thick! We wisely used the largest, SS flat...

    Opinions on 24' Off Shore and 25-26' Sail fish

    If you trailer a Sailfish, not only will she wide, but heavy....due to the 202 in gas, water, maybe an AC, hardtop, etc.... don't forget that you have to add the weight of the dual/triple axle trailer too.... you'll want a tow vehicle that can easily drag all that weight around and that can stop it!

    lost 1 engine, possible repower

    1) Your insurance company will frown if you go beyond the rated power. 2) Have you considered going with a factory certified, re-built? I did that with my blown OX-66 and it came out to about $5,500-$6,000 to get basically a new engine with a 1-year warranty. This is where they trade in your...

    Grady @ FLL Boat Show

    Mega, you've seen my proposal of a 34 foot version of the Marlin, what I call the 346 Swordfish. The same helm layout, but with a bigger cabin below, twin 350s, 350 in gas, 50 in water, 12 foot beam, etc. But, they seem hell-bent on Express models beyond the 300. On the Scout Abaco 35, they...

    Marlin Tackle Station

    Hi Slack, I have a 2001 Marlin with the drawers behind the helm seat. My 4 drawers show some use, etc. I recently bought a new tackle bag at Bass Pro Shops and it came with 4 drawers that amazingly are identical to those on my boat! Seeing as how I'm always thinking about "re-sale value", I...

    Too many Grady's, too confusing.

    If you can, go visit a Grady dealer nearby. Tell them what you want and get some suggestions from them. Although you'll look at some brand new models, you'll get an idea of Grady quality. If you can find a boat with a newer engine, that would be great. Singles will be more efficient as well as...

    Horn not working, help

    The horn on my Sailfish and now Marlin usually craps out every 12-18 months. I usually get it replaced when it goes in the boat yard, but I finally gave up and bought a small (and LOUDER) hand-held horn. When I go to sell, I'll get it fixed/replaced one last time......... The cheap horn is one...

    Grady @ FLL Boat Show

    We carefully examined (in order) the Scout Abaco 35, the new Edgewater 335, the GW 330 and the in-water, Pursuit OS 345 yesterday at the Lauderdale Boat Show. We'd rate the Edgewater and Scout/Abaco as tied for third and the GW 330 in second place, but the Pursuit OS 345 is so far ahead of the...

    how often to get boat detailed....

    Yikes! My 30 Marlin is docked up behind the house down here in sunny Ft Lauderdale and there's no way that I could afford the $350 to have it waxed and detailed (rub rail up) every month!! I have used about 5 different professional companies to do the work over the years and the only guy that...

    In the market

    Two things will help a boat to have a good ride and be stable at rest.....beam and weight and Gradys usually have both. My buddy has a 27 Contender with a 24 degree deadrise. When he hits the throttles, the bow heads for the sky and at drift, it's rock 'n roll. Another buddy has a 37 Intrepid...

    Engine Trouble - 2001 Yahama OX66 Saltwater Series 250hp

    With all the servicing you mentioned, I didn't see anything about the O2 Sensors being cleaned. Did you have them cleaned?

    hardtop antenna layout

    We installed a Furuno NavNet system three years ago. We used the short, mushroom GPS antenna that is mounted just outside the swing of the open-array antenna and on the port side of the hardtop and we have traveled 250 miles into the Bahamas with the GPS spot on. If your new top has the "hump"...

    1993 GRADY-WHITE 252G Sailfish with F150s??

    Ironically, we bought our 1994 252 from the same dealer, Vero Marine Center back in 2002. It had 225 Ocean Pros which is the max for that hull. The boat you are looking at looks very clean and with the newer F150s it should hold it's value well. Having said that, I would guess that it's not a...
