I have the 1.7 helm and have an older ray marine autopilot setup. No power assist. Its nmea 1083 however no longer connected bc i updated all the electronics. hopefully it'll work with my lowrance when i wire to its 1083 setup. I wouldn't spend the extra money on the power assist
