    1997 208 Adventure

A 208 is a great boat and the Honda 225 is a great engine. Dicker with the guy over the price and if he meets your number, go for it. You will not regret it. If it sits a little low in the back, so what. The water will drain as soon as you get on plane. Actually, the 225 Honda weighs a...

Need Advice on 2012 Grady White 208 Adventure

New, this model boat is about $65K. But this one has just the basics and not a whole lot more. For the money he is asking, I think you can get a better equipped boat with a trailer. The F150 is plenty of power for this boat unless you want to run WOT all the time. It will give you good...

Busted for riding on the bow

As a 31 year motor officer, a bad day was when I wasn't writing tickets. I never made a law, just enforced. If you think the law is unfair, get your legislator to change it.

    F225 Performance

Weight makes a big difference. Hardtop, gear, water tanks full. Did you have a compression test and leak down test done? Yamaha calls for a valve lash check/adjustment at 500 hours.

    Hello 2001 180 Sportsman

I second that. A good marine upholstery shop will make your cushions for less and you can pick the fabric and color is you want.

    repowering a 1983 grady 255 sailfish with a 300 hp suzuki ou

Re: repowering a 1983 grady 255 sailfish with a 300 hp suzuk Since you have over 700 lbs. of engines, the 600 lb. Suzuki 300 should be no problem. You must have at least 25 inches of transom height to mount the 300...plus the expense of rigging, etc. Suzuki outboards are highly rated, the only...

    Bunk Carpet replacement

You can get boat trailer bunk carpeting on line for a lot less than that price. You must use stainless steel staples or copper ones so they won't rust. Home Depot stuff...no.

    Gas prices

Non ethanol 89 octane was $2.28 a gallon here in SC the other day. I just wish I had a giant storage tank so I could stock up before the price goes up again.

    Grady White Performance

Since you have such an unusual set up, I don't think any of us would have an answer. As far as overheating, there could be several culprits...water pump, manifold, raw water pickup etc. Diesel engines will blow smoke when under load but there are fuel additives that can help with that.

    What is this ?

If you take care of your boat here in the south, it will look just fine after several years of use. In the north, if you do not properly drain everything that can have water in it, you are asking for trouble with the freezing and thawing.

    1990 Marlin with Suzuki DF250s

Are your readings in NMPH or MPH. 21 NMPH equals about 24 MPH. Boat trimmed properly? Just asking, not criticizing. Lots of things go into speed, fuel usage, etc.
