New Member with ?? on Gulfstreams or similar

We caught a lot of fish offshore with our Islander so I can't complain about that, but the narrow beam for a boat 28 feet in length made for some uncomfortable rides home. The Gulfstream, with its wide beam, feels like a bigger boat and I find that the ride home when the afternoon winds pick up...

New Member with ?? on Gulfstreams or similar

I have a 2002 Gulfstream with twin Honda 130's. Keep it at the Ocean Pines Yacht Club. The boat handles great. As I get older I have to pick my days going offshore, but the Hot Dog/ Hambone area on nice days are certainly doable. Also, its small enough to flounder fish in the bay. My last 2...

    fresh water not working

I have a 2002 Gulfstream. The fresh water is not working. I have filled the water tank. The pump turns on, but I barely get a drip in the sink and out of the hose in the stern. Any suggestions?

    powder coating

I have a 2002 gulfstream with some pitting on the aluminum under the hardtop. Does anyone know if it can be powder coated to make it look like a lot of the new boats?

    My Rig

Did you do much work on the boat? When I looked at "Smiling Rat" about 4 years ago in Berlin MD the boat was outside and a mess.

I am facing a 6-7K repair so I was considering repowering instead of putting money into them.

    repower gulfstream

I have a 2002 Gulfstream with twin Honda 130s. Anyone have any thoughts of a repower with Honda 150s vs Yamaha 150s. I was quoted a price for Yamaha 150s of $39,000! (Engines, control, and standard guages). Seems pretty steep to me. Anyone have any numbers from a repower for me to compare to?

    Gulfstream Repower

Ron, I'm meeting with my dealer this week. Just looking for some info going into the meeting so I don't go in blind. Its a lot easier, for example, when buying a car. A little research ahead of time means a lot.

    Gulfstream Repower

Didn't get any response from my post about repowering my Gulfstream with yamaha 150s. Has anyone had any experience repowering their Gradys? Is there a certain standard installation labor rate that I should be looking for? Does anyone know of a fair discount off of the MSRP of the engines? Just...

    Gulfstream Repower

I have a 2002 Gulfstream with twin honda 130s. Instead of a $7000 repair I am considering repowering with Yamaha 150s. Does anyone have an idea of a ballpark price to repower with new gauges? I see prices on the internet of 11k-13k for each engine, but of course that is not installed. Not sure...

    throttle sticks

I have a 2002 Gulfstream with 275 hours and twin Honda 130s. The throttle is stiff and really difficult to shift from foward to neutral and to reverse. Really difficult docking in the wind. Sometimes hard to tell if I am in neutral when quickly shifting. Is this a major repair or could it have...

    new boat advise

I have owned 3 gradys in the past 10 years. Started with a Seafarer, then Islander, now a Gulfstream. As far as offshore fishing, I prefer my current Gulfstream. The wider beam gives a better ride and there is ample room in the cockpit. I mostly troll for tuna about 30 miles offshore of OCMD and...

    Islander vrs Sailfish

I think you give and take certain qualities in all boats. The Gulfstream, in my opinion, drifts better and rides better than the Islander. The Islander has a much more extensive cabin. We use the cabin in our Gulfstream as storage. They are tough boats to compare. The Islander and Sailfish are...

    Islander vrs Sailfish

I previously had an Islander and was disappointed with the ride offshore. The narrow beam was the problem. I have been on the Sailfish offshore and noticed a big difference. I have a Gulfstream now. Smaller boat but better ride due to the wider beam.
