232 Gulfstream: New deck pad installed (w/ pics) - GatorStep...

It's not cheap. Figure $25/sf for materials, $5/sf if they have to pattern/digitize it (Gulfstream owners can save this as they just digitized mine), $5/sf if they install if you are local to them. DIY install should be easy - clean the deck good and take your time getting the sheets straight...

232 Gulfstream: New deck pad installed (w/ pics) - GatorStep...

So far, almost 1 day... Really, they say expect 5 years if you are hard on it, leave your boat uncovered, etc. In reality, it typically last longer if covered and taken care of. If pieces get damaged, you can always replace just one section. Seems the biggest risk is if it gets gouged. It is...

232 Gulfstream: New deck pad installed (w/ pics) - GatorStep...

I just had the Gator Step deck installed in the cockpit of my Gulfstream today. I love how it came out and how it feels under foot. I went with GatorStep over the others for a few reasons. Primarily, I liked the feel of the material more. I've been boats with other's but GatorStep just feels...

    Gulfstream vs 258 for fishing?

I love the wide beam on the Gulfstream. It is so much more comfortable to fish (just move around in general) with a few people compared to a standard beam. The stability is noticeable compared to other 8' 6" beam boats I have been on.

232 Gulfstream: Props & Motor Height...

I got out for some good boating yesterday and had a chance to work these new props. They are definitely an improvement and performed as I hoped. 4,000 rpm = 31 mph (2.3 mpg in calm water) top end 5,600 rpm = 47 mph (1.4 mpg) (need to put in another WOT run to verify this)

Transducer relocation (w/ pics)... 2007 Gulfstream - Twins

Results are in: Night and Day difference. In the old location, the transducer would loose it's signal at any speed over a fast idle. In this new location, I was maintaining bottom at over 30 mph. I couldn't be happier with the performance. I could also keep an image at slow reverse. The...

232 Gulfstream: Props & Motor Height...

Boat just got some new shoos in the form of a set of Yamaha Reliance 13 3/4" x 19" props to try. I'm hoping to get out this Saturday and, weather permitting, try to get some data points. I'll report back on how they perform.

Transducer relocation (w/ pics)... 2007 Gulfstream - Twins

Checked one item off my to-do list since I bought my Gulfstream back in September. The Transducer was mounted in a crappy location directly in front of the Starboard motor and too high. Also, as you see in the picture is a water intake directly in front of the old transducer location. Net...

    SeaDek updrade

It is by no means bulletproof. The samples I have will gouge a bit if I test drop a screwdriver (point down) on it. It is closed cell foam, so it bounces back but you can still see where the impact was. That is a reason you should consider it to have a 5 - 7 year life span (less if you are...

    SeaDek updrade

I think you would plan to replace it instead of remove it entirely. It would be a bitch to clean all the adhesive up. Figure 7 years or so and you're in for another install.

Gulfstream Owners: I just had my Gulfstream patterned/templated (electronically) by Gator Step. They have not installed it yet, hopefully next week. If interested, they can now have the Gulfstream template digitized and can save you time and money. I believe they can ship the finished product...

Baitwell and wash down valves, can you run with those open?

You can run just fine with the valves open. Even if water is forced in, no issue at all. When you are using the bait tank, the valve is open while running. If a little water gets in your bait tank, it will just drain out. And what's the harm of water forced up through the wash down - IF it...

How To Change Wiper Blade; 2007 282. Success - Thanks!

With some needle nose pliers, lift that small spring plate and pull it down (away from the blade). Then twist the connector piece away from the arm and it should just lift out. If you look at the top of that little swivel piece (left side in your picture just above that little screw on the...

232 Gulfstream: Props & Motor Height...

CP, Have you tried your motors lifted one hole up? What is your speed at 4,000 rpm? How about fuel burn at that speed? I had a chance to open mine up a bit on Tuesday. I was hitting 45mph at 6,000 rpm (p) 6,100 rpm (s). I am at 28 - 29mph at 4,400rpm - just at 2.0mpg I would rather see 30...
