    228 Anchoring question

I have an '05 225 Tournament, and installed a Stick It brand anchor pin on my boat. Guy at Stick It said my boat is too heavy and it wouldn't work well. He was incorrect as I use it all the time on the 2' - 4' sandbar we anchor at and I've had zero issues with it not holding. Kind of like a poor...

I am considering a mechanical fuel gauge on top of fuel tank

I did the same with my '05 225 tournament. Moeller 14" arm gauge fit exactly, and gives reliable readings. Just flip up the inspection plate & take a look.

    Do you use Ethanol free?

I'm of the opinion that if you run a modern 4-stroke, and go through your fuel often (no more than every 2 months or so) PLUS replace WATER separating fuel filters AT LEAST every year or 100 hours, you should be fine. I'd think any outboard designed & built after roughly 2000 is designed to run...

Fresh water tank hose leaking '05 Tourney 225

The spray hose on the tank is cracked at the point where it attaches to the tank itself, waaaay under the deck . I can feel the break but cannot get to the connector How difficult is it to cut away the oblong, caulked-in floor panel that's right over the area I need to access? Would I just cut...

Pompanette helm seat arm rests covers

I got this response from Pompanette earlier this month about the spotted arm rests on my '05 Tournament 225 (same chair as Legend has on his Sailfish) Please see below for pictures of your options. There is a repair kit which is a "skin" which is glued over your existing arm or a complete arm...

    fuel sender ground issue

Thanks Dennis for this reply. I will do this in a couple of weeks when I'm down at the dry stack again... 1) DMM...you mean my multi-meter? 2) Is the BUS bar the electrical "bar" with what looks like a bunch of ground wires (8 or 9) attached all in a row beneath all the other wiring behind the...

    fuel sender ground issue

My '06 225 Tournament's Yamaha fuel gauge stopped working a few months ago (flashing 1 bar). Finally got around to trouble-shooting this past week.....seems the tank ground is bad, because I can attach a wire to the sender ground at the tank, then to the battery ground and get a correct reading...
