i am having the same problem with commissioning my Gen 2 button. I called Lowrance and talk to someone who didn't have a clue about what he was talking about. Did you get the autopilot to work with your unit? I could use some help.

I converted my 1997 Adventure 208 from mechanical to hydraulic steering. Everything went well. What a pleasant surprise. My next step is to install the Lowrance autopilot. I hope everything goes as smoothly. Keeping my fingers crossed.

The first question is what type of steering and electronics do you have. I am in the process of installing one on my 208. I am having to convert over to hydraulic steering. I did not have enough room under my helm to use my cable steering.

I agree with Ky Grady. You must be getting water in your electronics box. I used this hose to run wires into my electronics box.

I have a place in Au Gres Mi. on Lake Huron/Saginaw Bay. I have been chasing Mr. Marble Eyes there for about 30 years. A good friend of mine runs his Explorer out of Bayport Mi. on the other side of the bay. It's good to see another Grady on the water once in a while.

I removed my guide bunks and slide pvc pipe over the uprights. The guide bunks would submerge rendering them useless.

I am going to install a Lowrance cable steer autopilot on my 1997 Adventure 208 in the spring. Do I need to change the steering cable in order for it to work? If so what type and length of cable do I need. Any other tips would be appreciated. I already have the Lowrance autopilot and Gen 2 units.

I carry a comp prop as a spare.

I also use PRI-G with every fill up (one ounce per 16 gallons). I seems to work great and it is very cost effective.

This is the system I use. I rarely use the both setting and never switch batteries when the motor is running. Keep it simple - keep it safe.
