Sailfish 282 with Jabsco Holding Tank Macerator

I know what you mean about the panel. On mine the screw holes are have the outside part missing. Still holds it but may need to make a starboard trim some day to make it look better. The macerator that is jammed for me is the overboard discharge. The head still seems to be working fine. I...

Yamaha Fuel Managment - how accurate

I have to agree that mine is right on the money too. Last weekend started with a full tank and burned 53 gallons. Went to fill up and only could squeeze 53 back in. Might have been a 1/2 gallon difference but I remembered it because I was shocked.

which walk around with a full v-berth and stand up head?

I love my 282 Sailfish and it is great. I do love the Express style too but something about the 265 I was not crazy about. The ride did not seem as good as the 282. I will say the helm room almost out weighed that. Next time I may look at a 305 for my use.

265, Sailfish, Marlin - Ride, Stability

I own and Sailfish and if I could have afforded a Marlin I would have bought it. But I really wanted 4 strokes and had to settle. Which is funny to say because I do love the boat and it will take as the previous poster has said way more than I would go out in. You may only do 20 knots going...

    sea water in bilge

I always have a little water in the bow bilge but aft is normal bone dry. It is just the way the boat sits in the water and the pump can not get it all out. Also it is not seawater that I have ever noticed. Most Grady's I have seen the water collects in the bow first. If you have 3 inches in...

Sailfish 282 with Jabsco Holding Tank Macerator

Better to be safe than sorry. Thank you for confirming what I had thought. Luckily I do not have an Air Conditioner so access is pretty easy for me. One panel at the aft berth and it is right there.

Sailfish 282 with Jabsco Holding Tank Macerator

I have a 2006 with the holding tank that has a Jabsco 18590 mounted on the top of it. It is jammed up and not sure if it has ever had a service kit done. I was going to jump right in and disconnect it an unscrew it from the tank and then in my old age said wait a minute let me clarify a few...

anyone have outrigger on their grady marlin

The bolted setup in this thread is on my boat. It has been on for a few years and is rock solid. A few tips makes sure that the holes are all epoxy cored or you will eventually have problems. I had the brackets powder coated to match the aluminum. It was the way to go.

    advice needed

I second the idea of dry storage. I would not want to tow her that much. It will get old and for the fuel cost of towing I bet you can almost do storage.

    advice needed

I have owned a 2006 282 with twin 225 4 strokes for 3 years now and I tow it twice a year about 175 miles each way. First I will say the boat is great and seems to be better than most her size on fuel. In my 3rd year now and once you learn the hull you should not get wet and feel very safe...

    Yamaha F225 corosion

Yes that is the issue. I have the same issue but luckily it will be done under warranty. FYI mine looks like yours and the Yamaha tech I had come out said to wait. He was a great guy and inspected and wrote a report to document for Yamaha. He is mobile and works out of New Bedford area...

Fridge survey - do you use it...?

We use ours and cannot think of living without it. I have shore power at my dock so just leave it plugged in and no problem. It sure beats dragging coolers back and forth.

    Grady vrs pursuit handling

    Non Skid on Gunnels

I use woody on it all the way to the rub rail. Do it every 2-3 weeks. Woody is so easy to apply i use it on the entire topside throughout the season.

    Hardtop Mounted Outriggers

I ended up going the epoxy route. We dug out a bunch of the foam and filled the void with an epoxy putty. With the plates I fabricated bolted/glued to the hardtop and then the epoxy my outriggers are solid. Now I look at every mounting job I see and have yet to find one other than welded...

New Grady owner here, and with first issues

I think they are on the right track. I would bring it to a dealer and tell them the symptom. See what they say. They should start in the same place. Takes a lot less fuel to get 3500 rpms @ neutral then under load.
