    265 express

The best 26' express cabin boat out there!

Was the GW 265 Express hull used in any other model ?

That mold was only for the 265. It's probably in some warehouse now! Actually there should be 2 molds because '00-'02 models had a 21 deg dead rise and '03-'05 models were 20 deg!?

GW service, warranty and support - continues to excel

The Grady bashers make me laugh! Over on THT the threads go like this: Grady vs Hydrasport Grady vs Aquasport, Edgewater, Wellcraft...! Get the Grady! And when you go to sell it to get your NEW Grady, you will actually get phone calls!

    Livewell Leaking?

Bob if you get boarded it's not enough to have the seacock closed, it's got to have some sort of lock on it ( like a plastic zip strap) when inshore in NY

    Transom scuppers below water line

Besides doing what's been mentioned check the scupper through hulls on the transom! Look for rusty water coming from there when the boat is pulled. also lift the flap if it has one and carefully feel the inside with your finger for any cracks. I discovered a crack in my ss transom scupper...

Still glad you "Got the Grady?"

I dunno! I might be looking at an Express in the future! But I've always been a Marlin fan!

Still glad you "Got the Grady?"

Yep! Seems like most of us love our Grady's! Now if the wind would lay down a bit we could all do some FISHING!

    Interesting trade

After a traumatic childhood involving stern drive woes.... I'll stick with outboards! If you could keep your boat on a lift, I/Os would be much more appealing. Having the unit underwater all the time for a wet slip boat is not for me. But you can't argue with the economy of an i/o.

    VST

I wouldn't bother with it unless the engine starts acting up with the usual VST filter symptoms. Then when it's time to replace it, REPLACE IT! Don't clean it because it will crap up again fast due to the ethanol in the gas. Just cleaning it will just give you practice for when you replace it!

Still glad you "Got the Grady?"

Another month and I'll be putting my 265 away after the sixth season with it. Overall I'm very happy with the boat. I haven't even used it to it's full potential as I fish near shore, but next year I'm getting a liferaft/Epirg and venturing further out! I've always felt safe on it and I...

So just how "unsinkable" are the Grady White boats

That's floatation for 20' and < boats. Only Grady and a few other lines have what they claim as unsinkable. And it's really only Grady that puts this claim on much larger boats.

Leave boat in water all winter - NJ?

Why not keep it on a trailer in the driveway, winterize systems mentioned and splash it on nice days?! I get concerned in the winter when my boat is OUT of the water! Snow piling on it.... all alone, freezing cold in the boat yard! I wish I had room to keep it here!

    Tournament 225

I just saw a 225 at Port of Egypt this weekend! We just happened to stop for lunch next door.... I joked with the Mrs. " I'd like this for clamming in the bay and water skiing with the family" . Can't really water ski off a 265 Express...

Twin Engine Handling (or lack thereof)

I'm on a narrow and very shallow at low tide canal 4 houses from the corner and tie the boat facing out. I swing my 265 around at the corner and back down the center of the canal with no problems except on the windiest days 20kts NE. At low tide it's less stressful than trying to turn...

2nd Annual Grady White Owner's Shootout!

I was away for the weekend but I would have liked to be in that! I wish they could sponsor one out of Jones Inlet too!

how much water to expect in bilge

Moderate to heavy rain will leave some water in my forward bilge ('00 265). It gets in through the anchor locker hatch and it's never enough to set off the forward bilge automatically. After it rains I just hit the switch and in less than a minute it's just spurting. If I were taking tons of...

    Smell in the Head

The head uses raw (sea water ) to flush. After a day's use shut the intake seacock and flush, then rinse the bowl out with fresh water and flush. Or you could have a leak in a hard to work on spot.

    Persistant Stains from Bird Droppings

When I bought my '00 265 in '03 it was a moored boat that was a seagull hotspot! The only "quick fix' available right now is elbow grease-yours or someone else's ! If the boat is not a seagull hotel now just keep clean it regularly and just rain will fade the stains after a while. Then find a...
