Jeckyl has it right! It will take a season or so to get to know the boat! It's capabilities aren't apparent until you pilot it for a while! All I know is that other 265 Captains have driven through stuff I'd be home watching TV in given a choice...

I bet it's 50 kilos ~100 pounds per engine for 200 plus extra pounds! I don't think your year Marlin was made to take the extra weight of 4 stroke engines, an HONEST salesman would have warned you of weight issues and 4 s. Or he could have just been ignorant , there's no shortage of that!

I think bracketed twin outboards are mounted closer together than they are on say my 2000 265 Express or in board boats. From what I've read, being so close together takes away from close 1/4 handling. Also close 1/4 handling on bracketed boats can be affected by water in the bracket...

That's one of the heaviest 22' dc boats out there so it won't be as fast as others it's size with the same hp. Make sure your prop is good and bottom is cleaned as well. You might get more info by checking the GW catalogs online for your year boat.

Cove I was wondering about that as well. I think that if the boat was moving forward the weight of the water on the deck would force it through. But for just washing the deck would it be able to drain? Also I've seen many pre 2002 265s repowered with t-F225s but it does drop the scuppers...
