Bob, the marlin does have a pretty deep locker but a couple of conditions can cause problems: 1) my 2005 Marlin had a verticle windlass(Lewmar V700 I think) and the new line Grady uses (not 3 strand type... called mega plait... it's a braid and very expensive) would stack up even though...

I'll bet the WD40 works just as well and isn't as messy to apply.

I use to use Penetrol as well... you have to apply it every year.

I haven't seen an anchor locker door on a GW that was not hinged with a latch to keep it closed. Sounds like you may be looking at a home made modification.

I think Grady made a major mistake dropping the 265 from their line... especially since they dropped the Islander as well. Maybe they had a hard time marketing the 265 but for the 2009 models it will be a major jump for someone wanting a larger cabin boat than a 258... the 290 is a major...
