    Insulating Fishbox Covers

Honest;y I'm not sure if they are cardboard or someting else. A few years back I was planning to build drop in fish boxes on my pacemaker (which I never got to do) and was planning on using these panels and then coating them in a few layers of West Systems.

    Insulating Fishbox Covers

I haven't tried it myself yet, but at my local Lowes they have an assortment of insulation pannels. The ones I'd try have the cardboard (or other type of material) on both sides with a soild foam insulation sandwiched inbetween. Shouldn't be difficut to cut to fit and then attach to the lid.

can you get more then one season with interlux micron

I always have. One trick. Do your first coat in a different color and when you see it bleeding through its time to recoat. On my Pacemaker I have a yellowish tinted barrier coat and black bottom paint. I've found that even the cheapest West Marine ablative lasts more then one season

    Need help getting hull clean

I'd give Acetone and a lot of clean rags a go. Wear gloves. Acetone will pretty much remove anything and then you can start waxing from there

    Teak

Chris I would have thought that epoxy would do the opposite and seal/protect the wood. Not surprising that West Systems claims its the best for teak then again about the only thing they don't claim it will do is cure cancer.

    Teak

If you're looking for a high gloss/varinshed look check out West Systems epoxy's website They have a special hardner that lets the epoxy cure clear. It may be expensive and a PITA compared to some other products but I doubt you'll ever have to redo it again

    Trim Tabs

My marina neighbor put those on his Steigercraft and had been raving about them. I'm planning on installing them for next season.

    Trim Tabs

Good question. Its much easier and effcient to trim a twin engine set up with tabs (again talking port-to-starbord) then the motor. With the motors at differnet trim levels the boat my be level but the motors thrust will not be in concert thus losing efficiency there. The drag created by...

    Trim Tabs

I don't know about speed but smoother and more efficient which may equate to more speed (real or perceived) THe tabs help level the boat port to starboard which a single motor can't do (twin set ups can). By running level as opposed to leaning to one side the boat is more efficient.

Yamaha 200 2 stroke, one electronic tilt very sluggish

I had a similar issue last year. In my case it was a trim cylinder leaking fluid. When you do tilt it up/down do you see a sheen on the water that resembles oil/gas?

    Multiple, simultaneous electrical problems

One thing I always do when tracking electrical issues on boats is draw a simple diagram. battery to panel to switch to etc. You'd be surprised but once you draw it out and start running through it from the battery forward with a multimeter it becomes fairly simple to diagnosis

    Multiple, simultaneous electrical problems

Are you losing all of your 12 volt power at the panel or only certain switches?

    Handling passing boats wakes

I know that feeling. I was talking about taking on coming waves. When having to "break" out of the wake of a boat in front of me I've found that taking a much sharper angle away and extra throttle works to get me out from the effects of the wake. The sharp angle makes the wake similar to a...

What’s in your on board tool box?

I've found that a small set of vise grips or Robo grips come in pretty handy. And absolutly a multi meter.....worth their weight in gold at times

    Handling passing boats wakes

Have you tried taking them slightly of the bow? By that I mean if the bow is your "12 o'clock" position try taking them at the 10 or 11 position (or 1 or 2 as it may be)

    Babylon Tuna Club Invitational

Just curious if anyone on the south shore of LI was planning on fishing this tournament. I do it almost every year but this will be my first with the Grady. I'm not sure if I'm going to do the inshore or offshore day catagory yet (watching the forecast) but if I do the offshore catagory I'll...

Best Forward tilt angle for radar on '94 Sailfish?

I'm not 100% sure but I believe the angle should be in the 3-4% range to counteract the bow rise. On my other boat I bought an adjustable base and experimented until I got the view I wanted. I got the base through Consumer Marine Electronics. It was a lot better and easier then dealing with...
