    question about potential purchase

JMP, My guess would be that it's a little short on power. With that being said, Sea trial the boat with the same type of load you would normally operate it with and see how it does. I would not sea trial it light on gas, water tank empty and two people on board . load it down. The...

    Boat Sank

I looked at a Reg. 23 at the Raleigh NC boat show several seasons ago. Nice looking boat . It had a flip down transom gate. The gatehad a 3/4" to 7/8" gap on the starboard side and about a 1/4" gap on the post side . When I brought this to the salesman attention, he basically just brushed me off...

Fuel tank replacement request - 1990 Tournament 19ft

This is your best option IMHO.http://www.floridamarinetanks.com/ They made the original tank more than likely and will fab. a direct replacement. It's cheaper in the long run to fix it one time right . Fuel tanks on boats are not to be taken lightly. Good luck on your revamping. :D Also...

    New dash for 208 Grady

Heres a tip that might help on the edges. I've done this on plexi-glas before and don't see why it wouldn't work here . Try taking a butane torch and GENTLY heating the edge and the melting will turn the edge as smooth as glass. It doesn't take alot of heat and it'll turn super smooth. Of...

    removing bottom paint question

I stripped my 24 Offshore using a product called Soy Strip. It was quite alot of work but I guess it depends on how bad you want it off. When I was done the only way you could tell it had ever been painted was by some paint (small amount) still around the bolts holding the engine bracket on...

    offshore pro 24 question

Your sailfish is 25 ' with a 9'6" beam" . the offshore is 24'2" with an 8'0" beam and both are 20 degrees of deadrise at the transom. The Sailfish changed in 92 when it became a SEAV2 hull and the OFFSAHORE changed in 92 with the SEAV2 hull and became the Explorer. Hope this helps.

    SAILFISH

Thanks for the advice. What I find is alot of times people just don't, or won't take care of their stuff. Kinda crazy to put out the amount of money it takes to have a nice boat and then neglect it.
