i know the topic is dog " boarding " but.... :) get a dog harness when dog is on boat, they have a handle on top. u can pick up the dog like luggage if they ever fall in water. learned the hard way how valuable this can be.

i had a similar problem one year, i forgot to hook up a small ground wire that had fallen down and i didnt notice. made me have no power at all. since then, when i remove the batteries i zip tie all the terminals that need to be connected together. good luck hope its this simple

i think i am going to get into the habit of taking a portable battery charger out with me when i go offshore as a "just in case".

thanks for the replies.. after doing some research, i found alot of contradiction. to keep it this year, i am going to stick with group 24's : on starboard i will put 1 starting & 1 deep cycle. and port, 1 starting. i will see how this works for me & maybe upgrade to 27's in the future !

hello, 265 owners who have upgraded from a group 24 to 27 battery, question; is the existing battery tray large enough to house the 27 ? how invasive , if any, of an alteration did it take to get battery through the compartment ? thanks for the replies in advance

you will not be disappointed with this boat...designed for fishing, it is still a multi-functional boat...and its a tank !

also unmentioned is, you follow a chain of keys for about 35 miles ( the last being marquesa which has some good fishing back behind it ) enroute to tortugas so if the seas kick up you can tuck behind one and wait it out if you really had to. then its about a 40 mile open water run to tortugas.

i have a guest charger that failed me, it made one of my batteries "crack, explode," (whatever you wanna call it). i put a new one in & opted for a direct replacement. mainly to keep it simple. that was only 2 years ago. so far so good.

the only "downfall" to this boat is you need to get accustomed on how to handle her . shes a little tempermental at 1st but worth it. other than that this boat is pretty sensitive to people moving about while your running.
