Not sure what engines you have but the book on my 2002 F225's says 87. i use whatever is less expensive at the marina which is usually 89 but i also use some portable tank and use 87, never had a fuel issue in 10 years.

I am not 100% certain but I believe all Marlins have been SV2 hulls even when they first came out and it was the 28 Marlin.

I would go with the F250 boat. I have a 1997 Marlin with F225's on it. Great fuel economy and run like champs for the past 10 seasons. I do have the corrosion issues starting so I am having the mid sections replaced now. The F250 do not appear to have this problem and if they are 2005 and newer...

Sounds like carbs, my buddy has the 225's yamaha's on his 93 sailfish. Seems every other year needs to rebuild the carbs. You can check the compression yourself, that would tell you if you have a blown motor.

Go on the boatus site they offer a free boat valuation. This could at least get you close.

I did just that yesterday afternoon, dropped them off at the local Yamaha mechanic. They will test them and let me know what seals need to be replaced.

Has anyone done their lower unit seals on their F225's? I believe there are 3 seals; drive shaft, prop shaft and linkage. I am not sure which ones are bad but I am certain the drive shafts are shot, took off the water pumps and notice the seals were shot on both engines. Any idea on what they...

You need the ear muffs and water to fog the engine. Its easy and will save you a couple hundred bucks. I have been doing my 2002 4 strokes since new in 2002.

Repalce all on my 97 marlin 3 or 4 seasons ago. Local canvas shop on LI, $500 for all. Looks just like factory, ribs and all.
