I run my Marlin with 02 225hps at 4K most of the time. That seems to be the best fuel burn at 15 gph and 23 K depending on weight. a few year back I came back from 35 miles offshore to make a tourny deadline at between 4600 and 4800 and she ran great all the way with 4 guys, plenty of fuel left...

I boat on Long Island NY and have no major growth issues. I do not paint my strainers. I just tape them off and paint around them. I have no problems during the season at all. I guess is depends on where you boat and how bad the growth is.

Hard Top The top started delaminating along the outside rim. It first started as a small hairline crack then after several months the fiberglass gelcoat just starting peeling away in strips. I had a 6 or 7 inch piece missing then I started to notice similar cracks on the front and other side.

A/C I use a cruise air 5K on my Marlin and it keeps the cabin real cold. How would you mount the unit when running? Its not designed to stay in the hatch when running. Hit a large wave and it will come through the windshield. It works well with the cabin door closed but as soon as you leave it...

Rod holders Pain in the asz. I am 5' 10" and have a hard time with the center ones. The ones on the end not too bad but still have to climb on the fish box or sink. :)

400+ on my twin 2002 225 hps and never a problem. First turn of the key everytime. Brother-in-law has twin 150's on his charter boat in Floriday with over 1,000 hris in less than 3 winters and never a problem.
