    Glassing the transom cap

Thanks, I'll start with the motor holes since that is what needs to be done while the engine if off. What kind of Armstrong plates are you referring to?

    Glassing the transom cap

Since I will be repowering and the old engine is off, I'm thinking of having the metal "L" removed the transom cap professionally glassed, faired and gelcoated to match. Has anyone done this? Any other suggestions for upgrades while having the glasswork done? Thanks Greg

SINGLE SUZIE 300HP ON A 232: ANY PERFORMANCE #'S YET..??

I'm replacing the 250 on my Islander with a 300 and am trying to decide between the 16x17 and the 16x18.5. I'll be interested to see everyones experiences.

Livewell gained from a 4-stroke conversion?

Rob Thanks. There is a plastic insert under the hatch on the portside transom - looks like a plastic bucket. Lifting it out gives access to the oil tank, trim tabs and fuel switch/filter. As the oil tank will be gone and I think the other items could be relocated or access via an access panel...

    just had a great idea

This gets discussed on many boards and the safest way to avoid being considered "for hire" is to rotate boats with the crew picking up lunch, drinks and bait. Anything formal where you are paying to go out on a boat could result in issues with the CG. I know there have been several discussions...

Tak to me about trailer tires....

Brett I'd replace them. Is it worth losing the boat due to a blow out? My trailer has 1 year old Goodyear Marathons... :P I've had plenty of local interest but need to use it for the next month or so while I repower, then order a new Loadmaster. Greg

Livewell gained from a 4-stroke conversion?

Looks like I've got the deal for my Suzuki 300 worked out for the Islander. I'm thinking of putting an inspection hatch in the port cockpit area to access the trim tabs and relocating the fuel filter. Then I could convert the plastic insert into a livewell. Any thoughts? Thanks Greg

    Islander ugrade to twins

Thanks, I spoke to Bert at GW when they were first announced and was told it would be fine. What kind of performance do you get with the combo? Brian, We already spoke about the performance with the 4 strokes but I'd be looking at close to $25k to upgrade. I'm looking for (most likely) a...

    Islander ugrade to twins

Trying to decide whether to keep the boat or go with a center console but if I keep it I think I will either look to upgrade to a Yamaha 350 or 400 (when released). If I decide to sell, I think it will move quicker with twins I am also considering twin 150 hpdis or 200s. I think 150 4 strokes...
