Thanks for the compliments.......pictures don't show the flaws.....:)
Interesting take on installation w/o screws.........
I put tape over the holes so they are already filled w/ resin.
I may take the suggestion and leave the screws out.....I'm pretty sure the caulking will hold it in...
Yea........feel like I got a jump on the spring, last year I had to wait until spring to do the other hatch.
Now I can install it whenever the weather permits.
When I install the new plywood I don't go all the way to the edge......maybe leave about an inch around the edges and put in a layer of mat.
Check out the end of this thread where gw204 gives his input........ viewtopic.php?f=3&t=19451
Removed the hatch over where the aux tank would be if I had one.
It was very soft. The core just about came out in one piece......
Not bad for a couple hours of work.......
I like this prop.........seems to "grip" well.
Also, I have vortec heads on my engine that supposedly adds ~30hp.........not sure if you have a Vortec engine.
The intake manifold will have 8 bolts instead of 12 if it's a vortec.
This is the prop......the pitch is 17". http://boatpropellers.iboats.com/Mercruiser/240_-_300_HP_(All_Years)_17.00-Pitch_RUBEX_3_9511-148-17_Propeller/773/20407/?cart_id=400066424
i get 30MPH at ~3600RPM and ~40MPH at WOT (~4500 RPM)......
