    Dual Battery Setup Question

I had someone tell me that. I didn't think it was right so I figured I'd ask this group since there's at least on on here who is smarter than God. Get your thong outta the crack of yer azz and go rebuild a transom or sandblast a hull you big bad "I'm here come and get me this is my number and...

    Dual Battery Setup Question

I heard it wasn't good to charge a deep cycle battery with the motor. Is that true?

    repairing chips and gouges

I just checked in on my boat. It is really looking great. This guy does really great work. I'll post a picture for you in a few days.

looks nice. I wouldn't know the first thing about running it but it does look very nice.

    repairing chips and gouges

True they have that disclaimer, but the fact is I personally have seen examples of awlgrip bottoms on trailered boats that are 6-8 years old and they are just fine. Your situation may include some variables that you may not even know about. The company states what it does for protection from the...

    repairing chips and gouges

There are quite a few examples of awlgrip painted boats that I know of. If they're kept on a trailer it's no problem. If you keep it in the water it will blister. Otherwise it's fine. This is a fact.

bottom paint and saving fuel costs...

if you're absolutely not going to keep it in the water what would be wrong with removing the anti-fouling paint and painting it with awlgrip? There's a guy in town that swears by it and does it fairly cheap. Great work, too.

    repairing chips and gouges

What the heck, I'm going to let a professional fix it! There are a few other minor chips etc he can do while he's at it. He's also going to blast off the old bottom paint, prep and repaint the bottom with color-matched awlgrip. I absoutely do not leave the boat in the water ever so that's not...

Where to mount radio and speakers in 222 Fisherman?

I have 4 speakers in mine. (2) on either side in front of the gunnel rod holder compartment and (2) in the back facing forward under each lift-out storage box. Pretty good locations sound wise.

thanks for the reply. Is there any way to "color" it to somewhat match the Grady color?

    repairing chips and gouges

I have a few areas that need repaired. A couple of them are below the waterline and some on the deck. They aren't that big but I definitely think they need to be fixed. Would Marinetex be a suitable product to use? I know color match will be an issue but otherwise will it hold up? Thanks in...

    Fisherman 222 Scuppers

I don't really suspect a problem other than what I've heard so far. I guess I could pull them out, inspect and if they're in good shape reseal them (which couldn't hurt). Thanks for the input, I appreciate it. Billy

Zebco, I bought it in Wilmington and got what I also thought I got a good deal. Are you keeping it @ Bohicket? If you're going to fish offshore this year let's head out together sometime. I think it's going to be pretty easy to change them out on mine anyway. Seems to be pretty good access.

    Fisherman 222 Scuppers

I'm not trying to get anything started, I just asked if the scuppers should be below the waterline. It looks like that's the design, or if not that's the way it ended up. I'm really glad to have learned that it something that requires attention and maintenance. I really wouldn't have given it a...

    Fisherman 222 Scuppers

Luckily I trailer my boat which is a big plus as far as this situation is concerned. So now, thanks to this site I know I own a boat with at least one serious design flaw but being aware of it is comforting. I know what to do to minimize my risk. You can bet your bottom dollar that I'll check...

    Fisherman 222 Scuppers

Thanks for the info. It sure seems like a bad design to me but hey, I'm an air conditioning guy so what do I know. I will take the advice of maintaining them. They're bronze and seem in good shape but I may just replace them with stainless, new hoses and clamps, reseal to MY satisfaction and...

    Fisherman 222 Scuppers

It's a 1999 Model. Everything looks to be in really great shape although I have not had it professionally inspected. I can inspect inside from where they are and all looks very clean and dry. I would think (dangerous) that if they were leaky that I would see some evidence inside but I don't...
