Yamaha 150 HP - battery voltage light blinking on speed gauge (192 Tournament)

11.8v is a flat battery and 12.2 is borderline discharged. both batteries need to be put onto a good charger overnight or you will need new ones soon. any chance your bilge float switch is getting stuck intermittently or you maybe had a big rainfall and the bilge switch wore down the battery...

Gulfstream 232D length for moorage calculations

assuming it is mounted correctly, the maximum an extra long leg motor can extend from a transom or bracket is 25" plus the distance from the skeg to the bottom of the cavitation plate. typically on a v6 that is around 17". so allow 42" +/- 5" for the motor, plus the boat's centreline hull...

    Fuel Stabilizers? Any preference guys?

the main active ingredient in ring free is naptha, which is what is found in techron and most other fuel additives and additive packages from higher end oilcos. the cheapest bulk otc source of naptha is seafoam. if you really want to save money, buy bulk naptha, isopropyl alcohol and pale oil...

Original Tank?.... and what’s with the bilge draining?

my 94 223 tournament tank is original and looks just like that only the coating is intact. there was a manufacturer stamp with a date. my 85 190 has an uncoated aluminum tank. both had lumber bracing which may well have been updated over the years when owners pulled the hatch. note that the...

mutton dressed up as lamb? updated decals

looking at replacing the stripes and logo on the 223. it is a 1994. has anyone tried the newer logo and stripes on a boat from this era? leaning towards replacing with the original style but wondering if newer looks good or bad.

    Yamaha HPDI 200 low idle

not sure if it helps but i had a car that was starting at 500 rpm every time instead of the normal rpm because the ecu memory was being wiped every time i turned it off so it was starting in safe mode and remapping the fuel mix from scratch every time.

    Tournament 205 VHF Radio Recommendation

i am trying out a 4' antenna next season due to my repeat tendency to forget to drop the antenna when i put the boat on the trailer until it is too late. when i researched it the reviews were better than i expected . that's all i got.

    Mysterious Canvas

i could maybe see this thing as somehow wrapping around the bimini like a boot and holding it in a particular position against the windshield or maybe under the splashwell. or maybe the previous owner found it floating in the ocean one day, put it in a locker and forgot about it.

    Mysterious Canvas

i have full factory canvas for a 190 and no idea either. guesses would be anchor locker cover, piece that fits between windshield and bow tonneau, or maybe a stretcher piece made for a shrunken factory canvas that no longer fits.

    aluminum transom trim

thanks, the media section helped a lot. i am going to see if i can duplicate that corner elbow piece by cutting up a pvc rain gutter elbow. if that works, i will order some hdpe angle to redo the 223. i like the effect.

    aluminum transom trim

actually looking more closely it seems familiar. i think it may be repurposed pvc gutter trim pieces.

    aluminum transom trim

so to clarify, is that two "L" angle pieces overlapped from the inside and outside of the transom and sealed along the top? also, i can't enlarge your photos, so i would be very interested to see a picture of those inside corner piece moldings more close up to understand them better. they are...

    Battery Issue

if you cross the battery cables and connect the positive terminal on a battery to the "1" positive cable from the switch and the negative battery terminal to the "2" position negative cable then the battery will only work at all in the "both" position and it will be weak because the ground is...

Recomendations for recovering cockpit bolters and pads in MA or RI

any local upholstery shop willing to work with vinyl can copy the pattern and stitching and reuse the foam and backing pieces. take the cushions in to a small shop and avoid any discussion of what kind of boat they are from. ask for a price breaking down materials and labour and what their...

    Battery Issue

i crossed up the two ground cables on a dual battery set up with only one battery installed and had this issue. it worked on "2" but had no power to crank the motor and the tilt was slow. took a little while to figure out.

    Looking at purchasing a 1989 25sailfish with twin I/O

i think a single 250 will move it fine if you drop the prop pitch down, but true enough. it won't quite be like a cabin cruiser but you will need the trim tabs and cruise in the low 20s.
