Where to mount an EPIRB on a Grady?

All my safety equipment is in place except for an EPIRB. Mine is a 228 but seeing that Grady's are so similar in design, where would you guys recommend mounting a Cat I EPIRB so that it can float freely if ever needed?

Yamaha F250B vs new gen F250 off shore

I think I read the other day where the F250B (elec control version) is being discontinued so that could matter. But here's a pretty good rundown between the 2 published last year: http://www.trailerboats.com/output.cfm?id=2705959

WA, CC or DC for family/fishing use?

FWIW, I had the opportunity to go out with some friends last week in a CC. The boat was great but we froze our #$#$'s off! And this is on the west coast of FL. The whole time, I couldn't help but wish I were in my little Grady WA. I agree the beam could be wider but being a year round' and...

265 Express Owners: What was mounted here?

Looks like the battery select switch should be there. See page 7-17 of the manual from the Grady site: http://www.gradywhite.com/customer/manuals/2002/Express/265/

    Raw Water Outlet Fitting

Thanks Curmudgeon, that's true and what I'll do. I went by West Marine yesterday and they're supposed to have one in next week.

    Raw Water Outlet Fitting

I'm not too concerned about that but if the pressure did drop, I would have another freshwater outlet. Actually, if this is successful, I'll probably use the aft outlet for a raw water pump flush port. But that's for another thread.

    Raw Water Outlet Fitting

My 228 has the raw water fitting located at the stern so when I have friends and family fishing, the hose is right under their feet. So I plan to add an outlet near the forward end of the deck to allow easier access. Does anyone know what brand outlet Grady uses? I would like to match what’s...

225 OX66 Service issues with local Grady dealer in Ohio

I work in a technical field. Hopefully you've kept a detailed log of exactly what has been done each step of the way to help figure out the problem. We've had issues run for months with skilled guys having a rough time finding causes. I've been on jobs where we've run a gauntlet of efforts to...

    Re-build or buy new?

It really depends on how much you like the boat and how much you'll use it. I've done upgrades on my boat that many would not; but they were justified because they were daily/weekly use things that make the boat much more enjoyable to operate. This is also the reason I bought a late model rig...

    Motor selection for Seafarer 22

I have an F250 and absolutely enjoy it in every way. 200-225 would be fine too as others have said; you'll be disappointed with anything smaller. The real challenge comes when carrying more than 2 people with a smaller motor. Even the 250 takes a little bit to get out of the hole with 4 plus...

    330 express perf. #s

I have the much smaller 228 but just recently discovered the true value of trim tabs. I, like many others, assumed tabs down meant increased fuel consumption but that's not necessarily so. Depending on conditions, my fuel economy actually improves with tabs down. It seems that if conditions...

Pursuit os345 vs. Grady 330 express

They had a lightly used, pristine 2 year old 330 here a few months ago at a local dealer that was loaded. I guess they finally sold it and I'm glad. Seeing that beauty sitting there with a big for sale sign was killing me.

National Boat Owners Association Towing Services: Read This

Re: National Boat Owners Association Towing Services: Read There was an extensive post on this on another site about a similar experience with a Sea Tow Operation; I don't recall if it was in the same area or not. The very best option is to literally go to the towing service office and meet...

    27'2" Serious Questions

I'm no seasoned Grady Capt, only been using my 228 for a year. But those trim tabs are your friends; it'll take time to learn exactly how to set them for your boat but when you do, all will be fine. You probably experienced motor prop torque for the listing. Heck, I just learned the power in...

grady white seafarer 228 2007 model

Any chance you could take a video and post on youtube? The build is pretty straight forward on these things; I would almost bet if it could be seen and heard that someone here would be able to help pinpoint the cause.

    Towing a 228G

I pull mine with a 2001 Toyota Tundra and it handles fine. But I do have trailer brakes and wouldn't want to think of doing so without them fully functional.
