Where is it leaking from? It is usually the front seal that goes. I am planning on replacing mine tomorrow. There are videos on YouTube and it is fairly straight forward. The seal kit is cheap.
Gotcha. I would just hate to have that extra weight in my ditch bag which I have rigged to float more so than the original bag. I will be making a "ring" out of stainless or a hose clam that will hold my containers of Stay Afloat in the bilge are and other below deck areas where I would most...
Nice units. My Garmin accepts either 0183 or N2K so, it's no big deal for me. Again I was originally in the market for a hailer... It just progressed into the other options.
I was in the market for a hailer and this unit has it. The AIS and VHF was just a bonus. I'd like to take advantage of the AIS receiver. Turns out the 2100b isn't made any longer. I will be getting the 2200.
I am looking to buy a new VHF with AIS technology. Probably something like a Standard Horizon GX2200. Before doing so I want to be able I can output the AIS information to my Garmin 7610vsx. Both the radio and plotter have NMEA 0183 inputs and outputs. Can anyone confirm that these will do what...
I am not sure where you live but, any reputable upholstery shop can make you replacements if you don't care much about the logo. I had mine done along with the backrests, combing pads and both box covers done with white and green for $800.
I am on the second season with my sled. With everything I have done to it between last year and this year I am already much older. Still have a ton to do before launching. My "tinkering" was a 2 page list.
I am doing mine tomorrow. I have 1995 Johnson's that are in pretty good shape (other than the covers). I removed all the decals from the covers, aggressively sanded a lot of pits and chips without exposing the raw glass, re-sanded with 120 and 220 grit. I shot them with sandable primer with...
Mine post painting with Pettit Jade Green topsides paint. They look pretty good for my personal painting ability. There are some fuzzes but, they're 1000% better than what was there.
What I was originally working with....
After a thorough sanding and painting...
Interesting. I don't see why it wouldn't work. I am sure a 10" would give you the look that your are going for. The only thing I would check is the thickness of the livewell lid compared to the thickness of the round lid. You wouldn't want any of the underside of your livewell lid to be exposed...
Hey there. I am in NJ as well. It is also the second season with my 272 (1995). Like you I love it. I keep it in Manasquan River. I frequently fish for tuna and shark. I also make it up your way for stripers. If you'd like to buddy up offshore let me know.
Good luck with the new rig!
Fred
Contact one of them people selling "OEM" replacement decals. They could probable give you the color code. I purchased mine (custom color though) from someone on ebay. He was a good guy he might help you out if you ask.
I have the same problem which I need to address before the season. Make sure the terminals are clean and the plugs are corrosion free. I is most likely the problem. In the absence of a meter you could disconnect wires from the main sending unit and apply them to the aux tank sending unit and...
