    268 repower single 300

Have you had the transom evaluated? That 300 hp 4-stroke is a lot of weight if that transom is compromised.

Just had a nice little 560 mile journey, Sailfish 282

Thanks for the summary. That sounded exciting. Like I said earlier, you must have cruised right by me near Plum Island.

Just had a nice little 560 mile journey, Sailfish 282

I'd love to hear more details. That's a hell of a trip. What kind of speeds were you maintaining? How many fuel stops were needed? Did you spend the night on the boat? How was your fuel economy, etc? You must have passed by me on Sunday afternoon when I was off of Gloucester, MA.

    Rinse fuel tank compartment?

Hookup: I went up to my boat and took a closer look. I only have two access ports. When I looked into the aft access port, I could not even see the back portion of the fuel tank, let alone the back portion of the fuel tank compartment. I sent an email to Carolyn at GW and asked her if the...

    24 Offshore Express repower

If it's rated for 280 HP, I certainly wouldn't put twin 200s on it. I bet a single, 250 will do fine.

    Rinse fuel tank compartment?

Thank you. I'm not sure how different the 97 and 02 Islanders are, but I could not see the tank compartment from the battery compartment when I lifted the seat. I'm concerned that if there is a plug in there, I am carrying around a lot of soapy water. I spent a lot of time this spring...

    Rinse fuel tank compartment?

Hookup, What hatch or opening do you use to access the fuel compartment plug? Can you actually reach it?

    Rinse fuel tank compartment?

Is the location in the 2002 Islander in the same location? If so, how can anyone possibly access it to remove and replace it. The batteries are located on a shelf directly above the location shown.

2002 Islander Fuel Tank Compartment Drain

I realize that there is another thread about cleaning the exterior of the fuel tank, but I have a similar question specifically for a 2002 Islander. Is the the fuel tank compartment on my 2002 Islander actually isolated from the rest of the bilge. If so, I have a lot of soapy water in my fuel...

    Water in Fuel

If that is the case, I am going to be carrying extra weight this season from all of the soapy water that I used to clean my fuel tank. Can you access that plug to temporarily pull it out?

    Water in Fuel

Is this true? I have removed my fuel tank deck cover and cleaned the tank with soap and water. It seemed that the water was getting into the bilge. The soapy water did not seem to be building up around the tank.

tips for a following sea on 265 express

I have the 270 Islander, which is a similar configuration to the 265. My observations are very similar to those mentioned above. Tabs all the way up, motor trimmed up just prior to prop ventilation seems to be best approach to keep the bow up and minimize bow steer. I have a few other...
