    Is your boat pre-wired? That would save a lot of $$. I have a 92 and mine was pre-wired. I had the Marina install it, but I know there are posts with pix of the entire installation process.

    92 Marlin with 99 OX 66 Yes, plan to use 1 gallon per mile at best. It does add up. If you have buddies to share the fuel costs, I wouldn't worry.

    Before I bought my Marlin, I looked at an Islander with a single 250. In my research I heard owner complaints that it just wasn't enough power for that boat. That is why I would go with twins.

    Depending on how you are going to use the boat. Islander is a classic in that it is the largest trailerable boat with all amenities. I would try to find an Islander with two 175 four strokes.

    My 99 Marlin, at least on the sides have wing nuts. Very easy to remove. Just pop your head under the gunnel to view. Yours might be different? Not sure about the rear one, as I have not had to remove.

    2 microns Had to clean the VST filters on both 250 ox 66's. Had the port changed last year, so I had concerns. Watched my mechanic do it. I could try it next time, but there are a couple of tricky elements. Anyway, it's $110 a pop to pull that little plastic strainer and blow it out...
