Yea the stickers on the motor were rough. I got a little too excited with the 3M Striping wheel. I have not been able to locate replacements so for now I just compounded and waxed it same as the boat and it looks pretty good.

The previous owner of mine opted for a much lower than OEM top. I'll try to get a pic of it but I have to duck to get under it. I've seen pics online of others and it looks like the original is much higher so you can stand under it.

I would imagine you would want to do it the same way you wash an auto interior. My preferred method is to use my wifes carpet cleaner. It has a hand wand thing with a brush that works great.

Does it seem structurally sound? I wonder if you could just use Marine-Tex almost like spackle and fill in the missing chunks. Then go over it with some gel-coat.

I thought about that but then read about using Acetone to clean it off and then go back with 303 Aerospace Protectant. I ordered the 303 Aerospace Protectant and it's on the way. Hopefully it gets good results.

I experienced similar when trailering my Jeep. A few inches front or back made a big difference.

I wouldn't wet sand to remove old wax. You can use dawn dish soap then wipe down with some acetone. If you do decide to wet sand use a 3M rubber block and just spray the boat with a hose gently wax and then spray again. Rinse and repeat. I used 400 grit and it was too aggressive. Use...

Yea the 400 grit (I had to go double check) was a bit too aggressive. :doh I have really light scratches that we were not able to get out with the compound like I thought we would have. :noob Ohh well it still looks way better!

It took about 22 hours of work. I striped the old decals, cleaned with acetone, wet sanded, 3 coats of 3M Rubbing Compound, 2 coats of 3M Marine Wax and then new decals. The finish looks pretty good but which you can't see in the picture. Before: After:

To restore the gel-coat on my boat I used 420 grit 3M sandpaper and wet sanded the surface gently to remove the fine scratches. Then I'm using 3M Rubbing Compound and 3M wax the surface is coming back nicely. With that said I am unsure on what to do with the deck of the boat...? :hmm I'm...

I just used it tonight to clean the grit and grime of my boat. BUT will be waxing so the impact on the wax (if there was any) was expected.

I like the first but agree the fish makes it hard to read. Maybe they can move the words apart some to give it some space? If not I also vote for the second one.
