Yamaha Owners Manual vs. Service Manual?

I had seen the PDF of the manual (protected from printing), but wanted something in paper that I could flip through or have at the boat. Thanks.

Yamaha Owners Manual vs. Service Manual?

Thanks. Do you recommend getting both or does the Service Manual cover everything in the Owners Manual?

Yamaha Owners Manual vs. Service Manual?

I recently purchased a GW 226 with a 2005 200 HPDI but a Yamaha Owners Manual didn't come with it. On the Yamaha website you can buy the Owners Manual for $20 or the Service Manual for $93. I plan to do my own basic maintenance and winterization. Is it better to have both manuals? or do I...

    Cruising ideas from South Jersey

I haven't made that trip yet but I am thinking about something similar. I am in Avalon and the ICW near me is pretty good with your typical scattered no wake zones. ICW does get narrow on a stretch across the Great Sound between Stone Harbor and Avalon - stick close to the bouys. Let us know...

200 HPDI engine oil tank leak

When I have my 200 HPDI tilted up while at the dock I get a very slight leak that seems to be coming from the cap in the oil tank on the side of the engine. Anyone run into this? Is there a cap or gasket that is easily replaceable?

    Steering box leak

I have a 226 Seaferer and when I looked up underneath the steering console the steering box (don't know the technical term for the box that attaches to the steering wheel and steering cables) appears to have a a very slight oil leak. Is it possible to repair this? I assume it may be a gasket...

    Pitot tube question

I have a Yahmaha 200 HPDI. The speedometer gauge isn't working and I saw from previous posts that it would likely be due to a clog in the pitot opening on the lower unit. I checked that and carefully reemed it out (nothing much in it) but the gauge still isn't working. Is there a easy way to...

    Crack in Transom

Thanks Bob. Yes more interested in the trim. When I bought my 226 it had 5200 (I hope) along the edge where the horizontal trim meets the f/g. I also had small cracks in the gel coat at the corners of the motor carve out. I was assuming (hoping) the 5200 was just to get a seal for the...

    Crack in Transom

With my 226 the outboard sits on the aluminum trim. In order to remove the trim one would have to remove the engine or leave the section of aluminum trim under the motor intact and replace f/g the rest. Neither seems like a good option.[/img]

If you remove the aluminum trim covering the transom can it be reinstalled or do you need to get a new trim piece?

    Where to place shoot-thru-hull transducer

I got back in touch with G-W and asked the rep if I don't want the transom mount where should I put the transducer. He said is first option would be in the empty space where the optional fuel tank goes (midship between the two pilot chairs - under hatch and need to remove part of wood piece of...
