    Fuel Tank ?

I have owned my 27' Sailfish for 2 seasons. The previous owner told me he had not used the auxiliary fuel tank in some time and was empty and dry. I have been avoiding using it due to a concern of potential problems offshore while converting over from the main tank. Does anyone have any...

    Rod Storage ?

I have a 27' Sailfish. I have seen photos where the fishing rods are mounted to the ceiling of the v-berth. Was wondering the best way to do this. Are these brackets homemade? How are they fastened to the ceiling? Thanks, VC

    Trailering 27'

    Fuel Economy question?

I have a 27' Sailfish with twin 225 Yamaha's SWS, FI, 1997's. I believe I am averaging about 1.2 MPG. 3800-4000 rpm cruise, @ about 28-30 MPH. Does this sound about right. Would there be much of an improvement if I went to Four strokes in the future? Thanks, VC

    Fuel Sender Question

As it turned out the sender was bad. No reading on the meter at all with the float in any position. We ended up bypassing the sender and the gauge responded. For $56.00 the replacement is on the way. Thanks for the help. VC

    Fuel Sender Question

My fuel gauge on my 27 Sailfish will read either 3/4 or one flashing bar (empty). I checked all the grounds and they appear to be fine. I took the sender out and manually worked the float in the tube, no change on the gauge. I put a volt meter on the sending wire and got no change when I...

    Installing a new stanchion plate?

I am getting ready to install a stanchion plate in the floor over the rigging compartment of my 27' Sailfish. This will involve coring a 5.5" hole in the deck. Could anyone tell me if these decks are solid glass? or do they have a wood core that will have to be sealed? If sealing is required...

    Rod holder strength

Do any of you feel it would be necessary to reinforce a factory rod holder for fighting fish on 80-130lb tackle? I have seen some inserts that would convert existing straight rod holder in to swivel by just dropping them in. Any opinions? Thanks, VC
