Now have over 900 hours on the twin Suzukis. They have been reliable. Only issue was with the one lower unit, but since replacement there have been zero issues. I go on long (75 mile) runs offshore and troll all day. 20% more efficient that my F350s on the identical boat.

I have a 336 with twin Suzuki 350s. Great option. Now have about 700 hours and they have been very good. Port transmission had a bit of metal in the lower unit magnets; Suzuki rebuilt the lower unit at their cost. It has been awesome. Great performance.

If you go with the 330, I would not even consider less power than 300s. When full of fuel and running in a head sea, you need the power to push through. It is a nice running boat with the 300s and better with 350s. I have two 336s and also fish with a friend who has the 330. His 330 has...

Dennis. Just pulled the boat for the season. Next week i will change the gearcase oil, lower units' oil and inspect carefully. Let's hope that the flakes and shavings are much reduced! Otherwise, time to look at the gears for wear.

By the way, I am loyal to the Yamaha brand, but not the 350s. My 306 has a pair of F250s that are flawless. That boat is in Jupiter FL. The 336 with the Suzukis is in Shinnecock. Different applications; both great setups.

Sorry for the late reply. Mine is an '08 Canyon 336. I have run the boat with both F350As and the Suzuki 350 duoprops. No question that the F350s have more torque. But the Suzuki's have been painless and deliver incredible fuel economy. I run 70 miles to the Canyon, fish a full day and run...

Also, noted that the quantity of "shavings" is noticeably more on the port engine than the starboard. Again, no noise and no slipping, but i am paying attention and changing the gear oil every 50 or 60 hours just to see if it increases or decreases. So far, it has been fairly consistent.

Shavings but some of the shavings are flakes. The largest flake is not large, but noticeably not just a shaving.
