    Out Riggers on 99 hardtop

Agreed. I have telescoping poles and only extend them when I use them.

    Out Riggers on 99 hardtop

I mounted mine with the backing plate and wedge plate. I also put hard plastic spacer tubes that the bolts run through to prevent any compression of the hard top. You can get them at home depot. To get the proper length, I clamped the backing plate in place, inserted the tubes and then cut them...

Grady White Marlin Dash Panel needed

My Marlin came with the box doors with a Garmin mounted inside. When I upgraded my electronics to hold twin displays, my installer used the same glossy black acrylic to cover the hole left by the removed doors and to mount the new displays. He was also able to attache the new face with screws...

    1999 islander scupper hoses.

I didn't have 4 strokes and they sat at the water line from the factory. On this particular boat, it has a stepped transom, so the hull doesn't run all the way back to where the engines are mounted. With nothing displacing the water at the transom, I think that's the primary cause when it's...

    Deck storage under the helm

We put shoes, flip flops, crocs in ours. Mostly kids sizes, but our's doesn't collect much water if any. I like the plano box idea.

    1999 islander scupper hoses.

I had a '99 Islander and with twin 150s the scuppers sat at the water line versus being clearly above it. I had to replace them for the same kind of wear after about 14 or 15 seasons, and they probably should have been replaced sooner.

    Radar mounting on hardtop pics

I'm not a 100% sure, but I think you need to precision 9 or HS 60 if you want to overlay the radar on the GPS map. Which is a nice feature not having to discern 2 separate images. The 9 is also necessary for autopilot, but that doesn't have to do with radar function.

    Radar mounting on hardtop pics

Here's the Halo 24 on an aft leaning seaview radar mount. I think the 5" would look better, but I put it on 10" since I have the search light in front of it. My friend has one mounted directly to his 33 Express' hard top in front of the hump and it looks good and works fine.

    Superstitions

4 or five years ago, I was preparing to take off with guests that had no idea of the superstition. While they were loading some of their belongings I noticed a bunch of bananas, and immediately asked who brought them. I explained they were bad luck, but since it was a hot summer day I allowed...

    '95 268 Islander

I had a '99 Islander 268 with twin Yamaha 150s. With the stepped transom, the scuppers sat at or below the water line with the weight of the 150s; increasing the wear and deterioration of the deck drain hoses. I don't know if the '95 has the stepped transom, but it 225s sounds like an awful lot...

    300 Marlin cabin hatch replacement

Scared to ask. Is it the more aft section that is curved or the flat more forward section that cracked? I would think if it's the flat section, as thick as it is, you might be able to find an acrylic sheet and have one cut. But the curved part you might have have to deal with GW. My guess is...

Whats the best Grady of all time?

My father's first grady was '84 20' Overnighter. After that a '87 25' Sailfish w/twin IOs (never again on the IOs) then a "99 268 Islander. I bought the Islander off my father and loved that boat. Few years ago traded it in for a 2005 Marlin. Every Grady has been great for their own reasons and...

    Vacuflush Head Help

To DennisG01 and glacierbaze, the boat has essentially a 2 level system of preventing overboard discharging. 1. the overboard seacock has to be open. There is a tag zip tied to it, but I don't thing the zip tie is holding it closed. 2. A key needs to turn on the system. Something that the CG...

    Vacuflush Head Help

Fair enough, but in the past it was never a year, just a season. If it isn't full or smelly after 3 or so months why pump it out? Pump Out is free, but I still tip the guys $20.

    Vacuflush Head Help

Thanks for georgemjr for you input and it all makes a lot of sense. I agree I can start with cleaning surfaces for a proper seal before replacing them, and I will. And thanks for the additional info around the vent line and checking if it's pulling air when pumping out. I will say that I hear...

    Vacuflush Head Help

Thanks seasick for your inquiry. I'm confused as well. Yes my OP stated that the tank is filling up more than expected, which it is. The first two seasons, I only emptied it once at the end. So I was surprised one day in early July, my daughter said the toilet won't flush. But sure enough the...

    Vacuflush Head Help

I thought about turning on the discharge switch and cycling with the key, but I didn't/don't know if doing so with the discharge seacock closed would cause any damage to the system. If that's safe to do, I can try it with the seacock closed, but didn't want to risk it and I can't discharge at...

    Vacuflush Head Help

Ok, so the plot thickens. I ran to the marina to investigate some more and see if I can locate some part numbers etc. I turned the water pressure on and timed the water pump primes. 1st was at 50 seconds, then at 01:17 after the first, 01:30, 01:46, 01:53, 01:59, 02:02, 02:05 adding a little...

    Vacuflush Head Help

Thanks DennisG01. All great information. I'm going to try the paper towel test. The bowl "looks" dry, but it's not like I'm putting my hands in there to feel if it is ;). I'll also get some model numbers and order new duckbill seals and a toilet bowl seal. It's raining today and we're going to...
