    Im back in a Grady

Yes I am gluten for punishment....lol I do take good care of my wife as well. I know how good I have it. The boat checked out well. She has bad fuel. Motors have good compression. Stringers and transom are good. Floors are good. The main tank floor has a little give to it but probably...

    Im back in a Grady

Thanks Guys! Although I haven't left the foam behind - Still own all those boats  (outright thank God :) ) I really enjoy working on them and of course using them. The Grady will be going in our slip down in Ocean City and will see regular ocean fishing trips. We are really...

    Im back in a Grady

Well I sold my 92 Dolphin last season. As you can see from my signature I am not in the shortage of boats department...lol. Anyway came across a great deal on a 1998 272 Sailfish so here I am again, a new (to me) Grady owner. Here is a couple pics. She is paid for. Title in hand and I am...

    Dolphin verses Sailfish

A Dolphin is a Sailfish hull with a Gulfstream Cabin. Makes it more a fisherman boat as the cockpit is much roomier, however you give up cabin space. You get a porta potty instead of a closed head and a set up bunks rather than the V berth. Here is a link to a ton of photos of a 1992...

    175s on a '93 Sailfish 252G?

Glad I could be of service Brian...lol Just as a side note - I took the buyer out for another ride so he could get familiar with the operation of a larger boat - He is moving up from an 18 foot skiff. Anyway he wanted to know if you could tilt one motor up and get the boat up on plane with...

    175s on a '93 Sailfish 252G?

Brian, well I don't have experience with it - I would twin 175's would be sufficient. I wouldn't go to twin 150's as that might be pushing it. My boat with the twin 200's launches hard out of the hole and performs really well - I doubt a 50hp drop would be that drastic. If you want my...

Gas question from new owner of older boat

Welcome back to boats.... I just dealt with this problem myself - you basically have to pump that hose from the main tank into a can until you stop getting water - The water will separate from the fuel and go to the bottom of the tank. Then you will need to figure out how it got in there...

    FloScan question

I had looked at installing one of these - They say you have to install a switch to reset the total gallon used meter. This is from their site.... Self contained Totalizer with permanent LCD display records fuel consumed up to 99,999 gallons. Resettable or non-resettable totalizer operating...

    Looking for some Propellor Help

Got a chance to give her a good run this morning.... WOT trimmed out - 43.8 MPH Max per the GPS. About 5300 RPM on each engine now - Im guessing one was lacking in fuel delivery. The surging is gone as well. Its like a whole different boat with this setup. Im guess raising the...

    Looking for some Propellor Help

    Looking for some Propellor Help

Before I forget - the boat is running with the front 90 gallon tank about 1/4 - rear 150 Full. As the front tank is going down in fuel - the bow is definitely lifting more - makes sense, but thought it might be relevant to the discussion.

    Looking for some Propellor Help

They are trimmed up - in full down mode they are way tucked in. I will take a picture today of how far they tuck in - it almost looks silly. The boat plows when on plane with them tucked in. I figured they were too low.... but if I am gonna pay to have the raised... the question will be...

    Looking for some Propellor Help

Ok - Got the props back, installed a Garmin 3006 GPS and took her for a run this evening - Props are now 13 3/4" Diameter - 15.7 Pitch (or cup) Didn't have a lot of time as it was late - but ran her out - With the tide - Port engine 5000 RPM - Starboard Engine 5300 RPM WOT - 41.8 GPS...

    Yes

That looks really great out running - I have the same year Dolphin as your Gulstream, which is basically a Sailfish Hull with Gulfstream Cabin. I have been thinking alot about repower - Im tired of the two stroke smell that blows up under the enclosure when cruising, which we do alot. Im just...

    Cruise Speed??

I would think a good investment would be fuel management gauges that show your fuel flow. Floscan and Navman have some. I think this will be one of my next upgrades.

    Yes

Thats good to hear - Thanks for sharing. What year is your Gulfstream? Did you have to make any changes to the bracket?
