Fuel Flow Monitoring Systems - what are you using??

Sounds like you are only readind the draw from one engine. For a twin setup you need sending units on each fuel line, unless you only have one that branches into both engines. If yours is installed correctly then I bet its just a single engine reading setting on your unit.

A few more 208 upgrades (and fish)

I've been busy recently but thought i'd share some new changes to the boat, all recent installs completed after work without losing even one weekend of fishing/cruising. Re-wired the E-box with blue seas panel, JL Audio speakers, deep drop/kite plugs, Northstar Fuel Mgmt, Flush mount...

    Replacing Snaps

I bought a kit to replace the snaps on my cushions, the kit had 2 pieces that fit in the jaws of normal size vice grips. Also bought about 100 replacement snaps. Total cost ~$20, takes about 20 seconds per snap.

    RESTORING TOE HOLDS 272 SAILFISH

If your talking about the faded (fake) wood toe rails in the cockpit, I painted them gloss black 2 years ago and they look great.

    Hard Top for 208?

Hard top is the only way to go. Once you get it there is no going back. You will save a substantial amount of $ going with sunbrella canvas over an aluminum frame vs. a fiberglass top, but a glass top will last a lifetime.

    Final Upgrade of Seafarer 228

I would love to see a couple pictures of the electronics layout and crows nest. I intend to have my aluminum guy fabricate one as soon as I find a design that fits the boat. Where did you mount your S1000 pump? I plan on installing mine next to the trim tab pump under the starboard bunk but...

208 Switch Panel Upgrade w/ Pics

It was Seachest in Riviera Beach, they had another one that was a brand new one from my year (looks exactly like the one I removed but never installed). I think there was one more current grady panel but i didnt recognize the layout.

    HardTop for 1989 20 overnighter

Do it! Then post pictures! I am trying to figure out what kind of crows nest to have built, the simple standing belly band is ideal for a small boat but I an trying to incorporate a small fold-down seat for hanging out up there. Hardtop is awesome, you will love it.

208 Switch Panel Upgrade w/ Pics

Thought I would share my latest upgrade. Last weekend I stumbled across this gem at a local marine junk store. Its a prewired rocker switch and breaker panel direct from a Grady dealer for my exact model except brand new. I had called Grady last summer to have one of these made because I was...

    INAVx software for IPAD

That is very neat! I thought I was onto something by using the Navionics app on my iphone in an otter case next to my 7" raymarine A series as a backup. I would like to know the best way to back up waypoints on my phone, would like to get away from having any of my fishin numbers stored on...

    Replacement Speakers for GW 265

I have the same kenwood speakers you are referring to, blew my 3rd pair of them last weekend and now they are out of warranty. If you want speakers that will last then JL audio is your best option hands down, they have a deeper mounting depth that can be accounted for using a custom starboard...

    Adventure 208 Multiple Upgrades photos

That pulpit setup will be sweet, I have problems getting as much line as I need into the anchor locker with the anchor riding around in there. Did you find any suprises when installing the through-hull fittings like cracked hoses or frozen hardware?

Low Pressure Fuel Pumps on S225TXRW

I did mine on my '98 200sws. Cheap and easy, dont bother with new gaskets just replace them. Nothing is hard to get to either, I almost forgot I was working on a boat.

Adventure 208 + Yamaha F225A - performance and PROP choice!

Re: Adventure 208 + Yamaha F225A - performance and PROP choi The SWS is a 3-blade. I would still call GW if you can find the time, they can take all the guesswork out since this hull and motor configuration has been around for a long time.

Adventure 208 + Yamaha F225A - performance and PROP choice!

Re: Adventure 208 + Yamaha F225A - performance and PROP choi Congratulations on the new boat! the 208 is (or in your case will be) the most versatile and efficient choice. You are definitely propped wrong. You should see just over 40mph and 6000 RPM's at WOT, consider that your target. My...

    LED Navigation Lights

Sorry about the delay, painted all the fake-wood trim, waxed the topsides and hull last week after work, fished the weekend. Boat Owner's Warehouse in Riviera Beach, FL is where I got them and they were about $5/ea. They had them in stock. In the daylight they are not quite as bright as the...

    LED Navigation Lights

I put LED bulbs into my stock grady nav fixtures. 10 seconds to install and the cost of the the bulbs $5/ea themselves, 6 months and no problem. LEDs are great they don't heat up at all and use much less power on overnighters.
