    Grady Freedom 255--finally!!!

I bought a 225 new in 08. I had a boathouse and lift that would take a 225 but not a 275 with twins--what I wanted. Then they come out with a 30 footer. Now, low and behold GW comes out with a 25 dual console--why it too so long to figure out the the perfect IMO dually is beyond me...

    Fuel gage--common problem?

Got it fixed--sending unit at 132 hours. Dealer has committed to doing it even though technically out of warranty. On another note, I think one of the best things you can do is be there when your GW tech works on the boat. Mine stays in a boathouse and there are lots of GWs in the area so he...

    Fuel gage--common problem?

I have an 08 225. At the end of last season the gage was reading 2/3s full when I would fill it up. Last weekend I took it out for the first time this season with a full tank and now it is showing empty and blinking. Have others had the problem? Why do boats seem to have sensor issues like...

    Richmond Boat Show--Seemed encouraging

Went to the Richmond show today. I don't know what the traffic was like Friday and Saturday but there was a good crowd there today. Southeastern Marine, a long time , Grade A GW dealer, had an impressive display and were dealing. They seemed to be very busy. Very encouraging.

Took Factory Tour last Friday - WOW! - Incredible!

Well, I got into Grady in middle age when I bought a river house. I have had 2--208 and 225, and have had no other boats. I have had a LOT of cars, however--currently 8 and several high end. It is apples to oranges(cars) but I would say what I like about GW is customer attention and generally...

    Battery Tenders

I have an 08 225 I keep in a boathouse near the Chesapeake in Va. I put it up in late December and take it down off the lift in March. Temps can go from low teens to 45 or so. I do the typical winter stuff but do not remove batteries or put them on a tender. I use tenders on my cars (several...

Grady CAPSIZES Saturday 12/30 in the Chesapeake

Thanks. I have to say that as much as I have liked my 2 GW boats, the owners manuals are pretty awful and don't cover much of this stuff. I buy a lot of cars and do my own work on them. I am somewhat of a novice with boats--2 years, have taken the safety courses. But I continually have...

Grady CAPSIZES Saturday 12/30 in the Chesapeake

Kicker Motor--Peace of mind or a hassle?

I have an 08 225. Someone near me with a 225 recently had a motor failure in the river on a 4 yr old Yamaha-admitedly very rare. I thought about what a pain that would be if out there with my family. I thought about getting a 9.9 kicker simply for peace of mind to limp in if needed. Many say...

    Question about the Tournament 225!

Re: T 225 as a ski boat I have a 2008 225 as well. Any pics of yours with the 9.9 kicker? I would like to do that but thought it might be in the way. Thanks

    Best way to avoid porpoising

I have had an 08 225 about a year. Great boat and nice ride. Often on the river, when I am the only one on board it will begin porpoising for no apparent reason. I play with pulling the prop up and down and it sometimes helps but I guess i don't understand why it seems to happen in generally...

    RICHMOND BOAT SHOW

Just got back from Richmond show. Lots of Gradys. First time I had seen a Chesapeake--very impressive. Wish my boathouse was bigger. The prices seem better than last year when I bought mine :( --a buyer's market. I was surprised with the amount of traffic. Some deals to be had for those...

    VIRGINIA BOAT SHOW

First the discalimer--I am not affiliated with Southeastern other than buying 2 boats from them. Second, if you are nearby , go check them out. All my neighbors in the Chesapeake area have SE Gradys and their customer service is second to none. I wanted the 275 this time last year but...

Noticeable lack of chatter on new boat purchases this year!

I represent companies (legal) Some are going great guns, most are not. Not a day goes by that a client says they have to cut 09 legal expenses by X $$. Large law firms are laying folks off. I would hate to be in the car or boat business. Before the bank crisis I ordered an 09 Caddy CTS-V. I...

Dumb question-getting on plane in shallow water

When I go out of my channel to the river there are parts that are 2 feet or slightly less. I struggle to get out often dragging the prop . Meanwhile I see guys going out at 20 mph on plane. My dealer said give it a try--that being on plane takes the prop up a bit. This seems counterintuitive...

    Finally Got the Grady

Glad you finally got the 225. I know you have been anticipating it. I have now had mine a few months and have nearly 30 hrs on it. I got the sensor problem and have about 10 hrs on the new sensor w/o recurrence. If it gets too bad just disconnect the damn thing. People got along for many...

    New 225 WOW

got my new 225 about 6 weeks ago. Coming out of a 209 I could tell a big difference quickly in rough water. Let my brother drive it last Saturday. He has had many boats--he was amazed. Have fun

    New Yamaha 250--"Water in Fuel"

I have an 08 225 with a Yamaha 250. At 13 hrs it started ringing an alarm and indicating "Water in Fuel". As luck would have it, my dealer's tech was down river and stopped at 5pm (damn good service). He pulled the cowl and no water. Apparently , a sensor problem . Have any of you had this...
