Hey there - the trim tabs work really well, especially to balance out when cruising. We are a family of 5 so loading is never perfect, but dropping a tab when needed really helps. With water and oil tanks removed, moving batteries to port side balanced it for me

My boat's at the shop right now, but here's a photo if it helps. Based on 8' beam i'd say that it's about 38-40" from inside to inside of the bunks and maybe 42-44" on center... Hope this helps.
