    Head Scratchers

With great weather in New England this weekend kicking off a whole lot of boating on the Cape I was reminded that as great as boating is, there are always a few knuckleheads on the water. As I've aged I've learned to basically ignore them. No need ruining a great day on the water getting into...

    Make The Trade?

Yes thanks... took her out this weekend for the first time this season (without the cushions and the back to back seat which I'm having re-upholstered). Great to be back out on the water and she ran like a top! Couldn't be happier that I chose the Grady.

    192 Freedom in chop

I stand up while running most of the time. 192 handles it very well. Occasional splash on the sunglasses is the only annoying thing about standing and running in a chop with this boat!

    Make The Trade?

Figured I'd check in as a follow up as I came across this thread I posted a few years ago. I did follow the helpful advice and ran the Grady then decided to sell the Seafox and have been running the Grady the past two seasons and looking forward to getting back in the water again over the next...

    Dragged My Mooring

Yeah I just spoke with my mooring "guy." He said the moorings aren't really designed to be "hurricane proof" and the sustained gale plus astronomical tide caused things to happen to anchorage that we really don't usually see. The area I'm in is generally very well protected and I've never seen...

    Dragged My Mooring

Never had this problem before... I keep my 192 dual console moored at an offshoot of Popponesset Bay (which is off Nantucket Sound)... During the storm last week my boat dragged my mooring several hundred yards down the Mashpee River. I got lucky in that I didn't hit any docks or boats or even...

New to me Grady White Tournament 19 owner! Info wanted about boat/hull

I used 5200 on mine because the transom was solid so a "permanent" solution seemed like the right idea. But since you're not confident in the transom yet I'd probably just go with something like a silicon sealant that will hold out water but can be easily removed for a more permanent repair...

New to me Grady White Tournament 19 owner! Info wanted about boat/hull

I run a 2001 190 with a Yami 150 and the boat is solid in every way. Handles the waters around the southern Cape and buzzards bay like a champ. That being said, last year I noticed that the metal/aluminum plate that goes over the transom was loose and I was having a hard time getting the...

    First trip to the Vineyard

The Striper fishing has been great this year since April (and still going strong... will heat up again even more in the Fall).

    First trip to the Vineyard

I make the trip frequently (from Popponesset) in my dual console 192. It's a great trip on decent weather days. As a matter of fact I'm heading down tomorrow morning and will be staying until Saturday (a friend of mine rented a house in OB). You could go right over the shoals in my (shallow...

    1991 Tournament newbie questions

I have a 2001 (192) Tournament. I used one of those office label machines to label my switches because I could barely read the ones on my dash. The label machine worked fine although probably not as nice as something custom. I'm not sure if your boat has the same configuration of switches but...

    First Grady

I've got a 192 Tournament... the Jenna-Lynn. We're out on Sampson Island near you all the time (and the spit at Popponessett... I'm moored on Mashpee Neck). Can't get over the bath-water temps this summer throughout this area!

    First Grady

She's a beauty. I boat out of the Mashpee area. Hope to see you out there.

    New member seeking a Grady!

Hi just read this... did you ever find what you're looking for? I boat out of the Mashpee area in my 2001 192 and couldn't be happier. I frequently run between Mashpee, Falmouth, Hyannis, the Vineyard, etc. and the boat handles those waters like a champ. I have a 150 2 stroke (DI) and she purrs.

Saw your boat moored yesterday afternoon Andrew... I was towing one of your neighbors who has a small Whaler and was broken down in Jehu. Carpe Diem is a beauty! Dean

Very cool Andrew... I'm on the Great River pretty frequently (my folks have a place on Jehu Pond so I make the slow ride from Waqoit bay to their place whenever I can). I'll keep an eye out for you (my boat is the Jenna-Lynn). I'm always pointing out all the Grady's in that area to my wife...

Sounds great Tim. Yeah I'm sure we'll be down. I'll call you or send a text. We can at least meet up for a beer and I'll go over some of the local spots (happy to zip you over to the New Seabury marina by boat if you want to inquire about a transient slip if you'd like). I keep my boat on a...

    mashpee ma fishing

If I had your boat I'd absolutely head to the canyons (based on weather of course) and go for tuna every chance I had. With my (single engine/small) 192 I won't be making that trip. But I have fished for footballs on the Bay side (a short trailer ride to the Sandwich ramp). Not that I...

Sorry, I meant New Seabury Marina (not sure if the Mashpee Neck Marina has transient slips).

Poponesset Inn is great... she's in a beautiful area. Yeah the Mashpee Neck Marina (in Popponesset bay) is definitely a good place to start. PM me when you go if you'd like and I'll give you some more good areas for fishing/beaching etc. I've boated in a lot of different areas over the years...
