I'm wondering if, in preparation for the new tank, I should add a couple drain holes/tubes from the gas area?

Thanks Whaler, awesome pics, my tank/area looks just like that. What did you use to wedge the tank in, along the sides and the ends? And how were they fastened? Did you use adhesive? When you say you used vinyl floor moulding, are you talking about the black stuff that you see along the...

My tank should be coming by the middle of next week. It's coming with rubber strips and the guy said to caulk/attach them to the bottom of the tank w/5200 caulking then put the tank in. Once put in place I'm supposed to foam around the corners then do the wood braces on top like your...

hmn, guess what I was asking is what was done to prepare for the tank.. Under it. I'm having a hard time seeing what happened in the 'during' (middle) picture- it almost looks like two different boats.

Thanks all for replying, I'm still not sure what the outcome will be. Still cleaning and airing out the tank, before trying to take it out. Not sure how that's gonna happen... I'm real curious what the fabricators recommend. I was looking around and found this guy who made 'access panels'...

Thanks bobP I am/was torn on this issue (plastic vs. metal)..I'm leaning on the metal. There were two wooden 2x3's holding it down, I'm wondering now if originally there were 3 at the locations of these repairs. There's foam around and it's pretty much saturated with gas/water. The deck...

Thinking about buying a 1977 Grady White Dolphin

Ditto what GT said, pretty much described my boat. This is my first boat and I'm getting a real quick education with it. I definitely would want someone who knew something about boats to come along and look at it, or even get a surveyor. If I had, the thought might have entered my mind...
