    West Coast Bluefin

I'll let you know what I see, I will launch from Oceanside, head to 267 and then over to SE side of Cat. I'll troll madmacs, halcos and yozuris. Hopefully I have some pictures to share.

    West Coast Bluefin

Nice!! Madmacs are the new unicorn on the west coast. I did get 2 big ones on a charter a few weeks back, a 140 and 180. The California Flyer got the bigger one. I'm headed out this weekend. Seems like there is a body of fish further north now. If you guys are headed out on Saturday 7/9 -...

    Am I over propped?

OK - I ran the boat this weekend and with a full fuel tank, full 32 gallon bait tank, 2 adults and 50 lbs of ice - I was able to touch 5,600 rpm (38.7 mph). This is my typical load. Thoughts? Would you suggest a prop change? Thanks in advance.

    navionics subscription

I do, I find the APP useful when on other folks boats and when traveling, also a great back up.

    Solar power

1 keep my batteries maintained in the storage lot using 2 - 10 watt panels with controllers, one for each battery. I have been doing this for over 10 years. I also have the ACR set up mentioned above, that is so I ensure both batteries are getting charged when run, and only 1 is isolated for...

    Am I over propped?

Hi guys, just got my motor service at 174 hours. I asked they print out the engine data and was surprised at the RPM numbers. No data in 5,000 to 6,000 rpm range. I don't run the boat hard, but I think I may be over propped? I will take it out in the next few weeks and push it to the...

    Scupper screen to prevent clogs?

I actually had screens built in on the scuppers drains I used, I ended up removing them with a dremel. It really slows the flow of water out of the boat. Agree with others above, just blast the hose thru them before / after each run.

    Deck drain/scupper hose.... help!!

in my 208, I believe I used wire reinforced 1 1/2 inch hose. I sourced these at a local marina, they cut to size. Try soapy water to slide onto the barb. I know... the clamps should be opposing...

Looking to buy a used 208 Adventure

I also came out of a 17 whaler and now have a 1999 Adv 2080 and love it. Easy to handle and economical. Gets me out, fishes comfortably and gets me back. That said, I would love a 228 with a closed transom for all the reasons mentioned.

    40 amp breaker?

Glad you figured the issue out! In case you need to replace, I went with Blue Sea Systems - 7182 187 Series, 285 Series & Klixon Circuit Breakers, 40A. I replaced as a precaution, after 23 years of service I thought it was time.
