Southfork, this is something I previously partially wrote and partially (well, primarily!) copied from a different forum. I am not saying to use it or to not use it - just offering some factual information (not the "I've been doing it for years and I'm fine thing") since you, being a fire...
Yeah, especially for something as common as a Perko cap... granted, these are a "newer" cap, but still....
It could be that the lady who answered the phone doesn't really do "parts" - that's understandable. Lots of calls come in on Monday mornings and figuring out the parts program is not as...
Bennett systems are typically one of the most reliable systems ever created for a boat, going decades without even giving them a second thought. Of course, your boat is now 3 decades old, so......
You didn't happen to press up on one switch and down on the other at the same time, did you? If...
What do you mean by "2" hose, thru hull, drain" can't be replaced? Absolutely, they can all be replaced.
Your flapper is pushed inwards.
Flappers don't stop water from entering the hose when the boat is at rest - they're meant to do so when backing down. Too much weight in a corner (bilge...
When you opened the pressure relief valve, you should have then had water exiting the thru-hull. From what you wrote, it sort of sounds like you didn't have that. Which means it's not full.
Your HWH output line appears to have very dark liquid in it?
Bleed: get the air out. Open the relief...
It was mentioned above that you need to let the pump fill the hot water tank completely before all faucets will work correctly... from both the hot AND cold. This is EXACTLY the same idea as how your hot water heat works at home. Have you done that, yet (filled the tank completely)? Gotta...
You might be on to something there. I thought it was odd that he used the word "push"... but I made an assumption that he just used the wrong word since it would be obvious that the flaps weren't right if they were pushed into the hole and not acting like they should... and that the obvious fix...
A Vacuflush is pretty cool. It is very efficient and uses very little water to flush. There's a separate vacuum system and holding tank that creates vacuum at the toilet. The toilet bowl has a ball valve at the bottom of the bowl. The foot pedal does two things... it is a "handle" to allow...
It's not like the tubing is going to zig-zag all over the place. This stuff is laid in place before the two halves of the boat are put together and they're not going to use more tubing than they need, you know?
Plus, if you think about it, it's all within just 30' of each other.
You don't need the new faucet to diagnose.
Plumbing on boats is pretty straight forward - not too hard to figure out by yourself once you take a little time - just take some time and inspect - it'll make sense.
Even old flappers shouldn't stop water from draining. Look inside for a clog... or aim a hose on full blast right into the floor drain.
But, yes, they are readily available for purchase and super easy to replace.
You found a company that can do all of your seats without having the boat on site? I've never heard of that. I think you found a unicorn.
Skip the ski pylon - get a Turbo Swing. It's much better.
Bow cover? You can source the cover the same company that made your other canvas - look at the...
At least we're getting paid to help here... oh wait, that's right, we're NOT - we're giving up our valuable, free time to try and help others simply because we, for some strange reason, enjoy it..... well, most of the time, anyways.
In lieu of someone that is trailering their Marlin responding....
Personally, no - but from experience with hundreds and hundreds of boats....... In your Grady owner's manual will be dimensions/specs (avail online, too). The boat will sit roughly 2' off the ground when on a trailer. Does...
Thanks - it may not seem important to you, but it helps alleviate questions we may have.
Still waiting on my second question. It also helps if you fully read everything we write :) :)
In lieu of a new faucet that you just ordered... can you just plug/block the line?
You don't need to turn...
Personally, no. But I know I've seen previous posts about this. Try doing some searches for it. I know they're there... assuming my memory still works.
Ha! Just realized the OP was me... over a decade ago!!! That was my first go around with a large OB and trying to run in a bucket.
Yes, a 55-gallon plastic drum from Craigslist (often times found for free) WILL work.
