    Small Offshore Comparison’s

I'm glad I stumbled upon this thread, I was going to ask about what kind of range can I get out of my 208. I'm not running to the Bahamas from where I am :) but good to know it has the range to do the Fla run to Bahama. Looking to make a 30 35 mile run at some point this season. I have been...

    Long distance trailering tips

On long trips I like to lash the bow down using the bow cleat, then run the line down under the trailer winch mount, up over the cleat again , down under the mount then a few turns horizontally to squeeze the two vertical lines together and then finally vertically over the horizontal bindings...

    Garboard drain plug!!

I launched the boat a couple of years ago to work on the trailer in the parking lot - had my back turned to the boat while I worked on the trailer. I looked up after about twenty minutes and the transom was at the water line  Also had to jump in the water to put the plug in - It was a...

Bait Table / Cleaning table upgrade

After a few sea trials with the new table I added another accessory - a fresh water washdown to clean my slimy bait hands. LOL Its a $15 gizmo that is battery operated. I made a mount for it and secured it to the table where it becomes really handy. For now Im just snaking the tube into the...

    208 Tackle Drawer Rebuild

I was lucky enough to track down the folks who made the drawer parts for the underseat storage on my 1993 GW- 208. Envorinex is located in Australia and they were able to send the parts I needed, cut to my specs. I already had a door hatch made by boatoutfitters and I was miraculously able to...

Replacing Teak Trim with Aluminum or automotive trim

Do not use 1/4 for the trim in the cockpit. I did it and any length over 2 ft will bow in the heat even with extra screws (which look crappy) I'm am going to re-do it in 1/2" Starboard. The door frame and small pieces of trim in the helm area of my 208 are going to stay teak

Fresh water washdown - Northern Redneck style

Back in the day Grady had the option for a fresh water spout mounted in the gunnel on the 208, and a tank under the deck hatch, an option I didn't get. Not sure if I regret it or not but recently I've decided I've had enough of fishy bait smelling hands especially bunker, and you guys up north...

Hatches doors and all kinds of nice stuff

Actually its Fish White. - They didnt have it listed on their website (Boatoutfitters) but I ordered the samples on a chain and it was on there and that was the best match. Now they seem to have 1/2" Starboard in a Grady White color, whatever that means.
