Coil went bad on center cylinder starboard side

Congrats on the easy fix. If the dealer only removed the excess, didn't they leave you with oil that was diluted with gasoline? I would think an oil change would have been needed. Just my $.02

    grady white fuel tanks....

Ok sounds like the hard work has already been done. I would think Grady customer service could supply you with the specs for the tanks that are in there now. Good luck with your project.

    Shift Lever Chattering??

Sounds like the shift cable is out of adjustment or needs to be replaced.

    grady white fuel tanks....

I have not replaced mine yet but I believe you are being a little optimistic about how long this will take to do correctly. It was quite a chore to replace just the fuel lines on my boat. To keep my season going I would look into fuel polishing. not sure if that would clean sediment from bottom...

Proper Use of the Live well

I have 1 pump and if the valve is placed between washdown and livewell the livewell fills and the washdown sprays. maybe mine is special.

Proper Use of the Live well

If I want to use washdown also I can put valve in the middle and use both.

    Engine Failure - 2005 Yamaha F250

That sei unit is 100% new not rebuilt and includes water pump. If they make one for your motor. just my $.02. Good luck!

    222 ride quality

It's all relative. The 222 will certainly be better than the 19 Sea Pro. The only way to tell if its what you want is a sea trial  sounds like a case of the 2 foot-itus for sure. Happy shopping.

    Engine Failure - 2005 Yamaha F250

I'm not sure if that's a fair price or not, but OUCH! If these guys make one for your motor you could install it yourself and save a fortune. No matter what with those hours I would want a 100% new lower unit. Good luck with it. http://www.sterndrive.cc/mm5/merchant.m ... Code=SE421

    290 Chesapeake

A friend of mine is a salesman, at a July 4th picnic he said he has sold just one. :( we didn't really discuss why.

    Boat Vibration

same thing happened to mine. I sent both props out to be reconditioned and voila! it's all better. The props looked flawless before I sent them out. That was a relatively cheap fix for such an annoying problem. Hope this helps.

    Repower issues

Not sure if this is the exact model you need, but it's worth a look. I've heard nothing but good about them. I don't know if you need counter rotation or not. http://www.sterndrive.cc/mm5/merchant.m ... Code=SE416 I just repowered myself but if your not sure it's cheaper to keep what you've...

    Got Wood?

Actually I believe it has fiberglass on its wood stringers. Lots of wood in a Grady. Use the search feature in this site.

    Engine Failure - 2005 Yamaha F250

I'm going to be an optimist and guess lower unit. Shift into neutral and turn the prop to see if there's any crunching or grinding in the lower unit. Or drain the gear oil to see if there's metal in the oil. Good luck!

Have you checked your grady drive bracket to be sure it's not full of water?

new season-- No Power Yamaha 225

If you don't have a racor 10 micron fuel filter with a clear bowl you should install one and you will be able to see whats going into your engine. I would think 2 year old fuel is going to be a problem. I think you will get lots of feedback if you provide year and model of your yamaha. I...

Yamaha Oil tank bracket replacement 232 gulfstream

hopefully you only need the strap for the top. This stuff is pricey! I replaced mine a while ago, I wasn't sure what year your boat was so I used a 2000 when I looked up the parts. Good luck! http://www.boats.net/parts/search/Yamah ... parts.html

Considering repowering my 1996 209 escape: pros cons

it's hard to follow that you may repower next year but you may sell in 2 years. I wouldn't want to put a new depth finder on a boat I thought I wasn't going to keep. You will loose a large portion of repower money at resale. To me it makes more sense to keep the reliable motor you have now and...

    ox66 Thermostat issues

Since they are made of different metals, the green makes me think of corrosion. Maybe your boat has a stray current issue. I would check the condition of all the zinks and check for stray electricity. Just a hunch. good luck!
