Shift Lever Chattering??

I have twin 225 Yamaha Salt water series engines. Coming in the other day in some rather rough seas. We took a little bang, nothing too bad and Starboard engine throttle control felt like it was chattering and was like it almost wanted to come out of gear and the it was fine. This has happened a couple of times lately during rough rides.

Any idea what could be doing this?

Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like the shift cable is out of adjustment or needs to be replaced.

Much easier to do it at the engine end. You have to take the whole binnacle apart to adjust at the throttle end...
