    Windsield Washer Replacement

I just did this last year and from what i can remember you have to take the windshield motor out(from the back) and start there. Then you can access the broken piece to replace it, I think it has a nut on the back of it. This is from memory and I'd have to look at my boat to refresh but I...

    Marlin winterizing questions

Your pump is located behind the port sidewall in the aft berth. About ten screws or so in the carpeted sidewall, pop it off and the pump is laying in the gunnel.

    Paint Color Match

Minimum size is a quart and then of course you will need converter which is sold in quarts and also reducer which is also sold in quarts. All together you'll spend about 150 bucks and end up with the equivalent of over two quarts of product that goes a long way. Awl grip sprays well with those...

    Paint Color Match

Awl Grip H8571 is a color match for a 2001 Grady and some other years but I don't know which. I sent awl grip a chip and they color matched it. Any awl grip dealer can pull the formula from the computer under H8571. It came out well but maybe just a tinge lighter but only noticable by me. Chris

setting up Dual Raymarine C-80 displays

Hello, I have a dual c80 setup flush mounted on a marlin. C80's aren't the best for dual setup because you can't repeat all information to both screens, that is only available in the E80. For instance: Your radar will only display on one and cannot be repeated to the other, you would need two...

    Southco stainless steel latches

Yes I did mean M1-71-8. I don't know about your size, all the latches on a 2001 Marlin are this size. There's a deep recession(not the economy) with about a 1/4 inch flange. This is the exact latch for the marlin doors. Anyway, I ordered ten so I have three extras, let me know, you can try...

    Southco stainless steel latches

OK, how bout this. http://www.southco.com/product/class.aspx?cid=7390 Then click on product literature for details of the latches. The latch I'm refering to is exactly like the stock black one except it is stainless and has the three wafer key. CP

    Southco stainless steel latches

Hello, I'm upgrading all my (southco) drawer and cabinet latches, the exterior ones, to (southco) stainless steel locking version with the three wafer key. http://www.southco.com/resources/documents/m1.en.pdf. M1-48-8+ This key is a little less common therefore making it less likely to be...

    Freshwater demand pump

On Marlin, pump is located port side in aft cabin. You have to remove the carpeted sidewall, about 12 screws or so and you'll see it!

My MPG readout does not work-Yamaha FMS

Sorry I reread your posts and see you have answered some of this already. Are you sure your gps is tied into the Yami guages. Yami absolutely will do this but typically i have found that they (yamaha fms) were rigged to the the bullet hole

My MPG readout does not work-Yamaha FMS

Gary, Are you reading speed on your yamaha guages -- not the gps but the yamaha guage. There is a tiny hole in the bullet of your ox-66's, you obviously have twins so only one motor will be provide the info. You'll have to pull the cover and look for which motor has the tube that runs to your...

    Larger batteries

OK, Thanks for all the great info. My current thinking is to go to to group 31's lead acid for starts, and one group 8d AGM for the house. My battery charger wil do the AGM or Gel with a slight modification explained to me by Charles Marine(maker of the charger). Simply open cover and remove a...

    Larger batteries

Ok Thanks, I'll go check it out. Any thoughts on agm's or gel's anyone? And another correction, she's a 2001 not a 1990. It was late!

    Larger batteries

Sorry, I should have provided more info. I have a 1990 Marlin. Currently all batteries are group 24 Standard 3 battery switches, one for each 250 and one for house bank. The batteries currently sit on the shelf that I assume was the stock location from Grady--under the back bench seat up...

    Larger batteries

I have four batteries on my Marlin, 2 starts and two house(probably standard config). I need to freshen my batteries and would like to up the size of the house batteries to group 31 for extra ah but I'm not sure if they will fit in the standard place without modification. So, if anyone knows...

Questions - how to restore an older grady - 28 years

From my past experience you should get about 35 cents for every dollar you put into her. And that figure does not include YOUR labor, that goes for free. I hope your not doing this for money, I just don't think there's much of a market for boat restorations. Anyway, scour the internet there's...

WOW, I just bought my first GRADY

OK thanks, The yacht broker I bought the boat through did give me a good demo and I saw exatcly that. I'll be out doing boat training on my own this weekend so I'll get to play with it. Big, big difference for me. Going to take things slow and I'm researching a lot. That old uniflight had no...
