    Comparison LIst Please

Townvet, Your question needs to be refined by what your use is going to be. Hard core fishing or lots of family time with occasional light to moderate tackle fishing. Once you hone that down you really need to look at the broad market. At the price you are talking for a 360 there are a lot...

    Can I get some advice?

If those are FICHT engines they are BAD NEWS.

Tuna Fishing At its Best off Long Island

Good to hear and good to hear that you are catching them. We have been chasing the BFT up here off of the North Shore of Massachusetts for well over a month now but are catching a scant few. There are plenty of fish around and we have basically thrown, drifted, flown or trolled about anything...

Coil went bad on center cylinder starboard side

No, I have not experienced anything like this. The comment about making oil is curious (I am being generous). If your oil level increased it was due to unburned gas getting past the rings into the oil and not magically because it was "making oil". Thankfully you caught it before you...

    Freedom 255

I saw the new Freedom 255 today. My impressions of this boat for +/-$100K was in a word, disappointing. The 275 has it all over this boat for an additional $10 or $15K with a now proven, robust F350 vs. the 255 with a new 300 HP six cylinder with no track record and a number reasons to...

Design Flaws with 2010 Grady Tournament 275

I do not understand your issues. The mid cleats are where they need to be in order to properly secure the boat on a slip. Moving them back would not be viable in my opinion. Why do you care about the gas fill being behind the side curtain, are you fueling from inside the cockpit? If so...

    GW 275 Tournament Handling/Steering

Prodiver, Yes, GW had to modify my boat to get the lower unit lower water pick up out of the water. I have no hard top and think that this is the difference between our boats as they sit in the water. GW removed the stern light bracket (which you do not have on a hard top). This bracket...

GW 300 F350s what is the max RPM? UPDATE!!!

Shams, Glad to hear you have your boat. If you extrapolate the GW performance specs you should be able to do about 47 MPH @ 5,200 RPM. Based on my experience the GW numbers are about 10% higher than reality so let’s say about 42 MPH or 38 knots. As I am sure you are aware the engine...

    GW 275 Tournament Handling/Steering

I am not clear on the issues that you are having from your description. What I can tell you is that this boat is sensitive and needs very little trim and tab to correct it. It also has one very pronounced oddity in steering and that is when you are running with a boat wake from another boat...

    Pink discoloration on vinyl

Thanks, I think that I will contact GW is see what they have to say on the topic. I will report back on my findings.

    Pink discoloration on vinyl

I did a search on the site and found a few references to my problem but nothing more than that. Does anyone know what the pink discoloration is that appears on the vinyl seats and bolsters? I have seen this before on one of my other boats and now it has attacked one of my seats this past...

    Yamaha 225 w/500hrs

500 hours is not that much for an 06 = +/- 100 hours per year which is good from my perspective as the boat has not just sat around. Lack of use is hard on machinery. A few things to think about. 1) Review the service records. 2) Compression test (make sure you know how it is done and...

    Yamaha problems.

Check the fuel lines, make sure you gas tank vent is clear and allowing the tank to breath if all are OK then think about replacing the fuel pumps? Have a Yamaha mechanic go over the engine before you start guessing at solutions.

Is V8 Explorer enough truck to haul 18' ft GW?

I pulled my 20' Pursuit with a V8 Explorer and you barely know it was there. Weight was +/-5,000 lbs fueled.

    Hours on Engine

I put on in the range of 150 hour per year and have a boating season that is six months long at best. I would guess that the range for frequently used is between 100 & 200 hours per year so the boat falls on the low side of that range. Hours range might be higher if you live in a place like...

buying boat, travel to marina or not???

Fly it is short money. Remember one thing as well, the salinity and hence corrosive environment in Florida is much higher than in Seattle the same can be said for UV degradation, the surveyors perspective on this issue will be in tune with local experience and not in tune with your eye.

    New Yamaha 300 HP

I saw the new Yamaha 300 HP today for the first time. Boy does this thing look like a toy next to the F350. It looks about like an F250. If this thing proves out to be reliable and truly has 300 HP at the shaft it is going to make a huge impact on the market. It will most definitely kill...

New Grady White Owner looking for Grady White Club

Morning Coffee, Welcome and congratulations on the new Tournament 275, great boat (no bias here). Take some time and do a search on the site using just 275 and you will find a lot of very good information on your boat model. You will also learn about a few issues with certain configurations...

    Freedom 255 DC

Be careful with the new F300, there is a lot of new technology in this engine that ONLY TIME ON THE WATER will prove out. I know that Yamaha has a good track record but it is far from perfect i.e. the 300HP HPDI among others. I am always skeptical about purchasing the largest displacement in...

    Pop-Up Cleats...PIA

What size lines are you using? I have my fenders looping through the cleat, the aft line looped around the cleat and the spring line looping through the cleat to lock down the aft line. Bottom line is that I pass two 1/2" lines through mine and there is plenty of room.
